I love this pot
Simple, beautiful design & robust material - perfect for our cabin! Works well to heat water on the gas stove and to serve tea like our great grandmother did.

Functions perfectly well as a teapot - what more could you ask of it?
Although not a big fan of enamel because it loses heat too quickly, I needed an enamel tea pot to pack in a suitcase for travelling and enamel is of course lightweight and virtually unbreakable (although I was somewhat perplexed by the 'fragile' sticker on the teapot when it arrived).I've given it a test run and it makes a perfectly good cup of tea; the handle doesn't heat up and the spout doesn't drip. To stop the lid from falling off when the last drops are being poured out, I'd recommend putting the lid on with the little lip to stop it from falling out facing away from the spout. It'll take a little while to remember to do that and I thank the other reviewers for raising the issue. As for the lid getting hot, I'm sure it does but I can't think of any reason I'd need to touch the lid once the pot is ready to use.It holds about 1l of liquid and although not stunningly beautiful, as far as teapots go, it's perfectly adequate and not too expensive.

I suspected this item might be a second from the lower than normal price and have knocked off a star simply because the description didn't describe it as such. I collect falcon ware so the flaws in the usually immaculate enamel jumped out at me in a way they might not for someone not familiar with the brand. That said the flaws are minor & the item is still perfectly functional for what I wanted it for, namely cups of tea in the garden and/or camping. It matches the mugs and plates I already have. Thus I'm less likely to break the glass or china teapots I'd like to keep for "best" indoors. It's an ideal shape for pouring without yukky dribbles, & doesn't need a tea cosy to stay warm past the first cup as ceramics and glass pots do. There are large filter holes at the base of the spout but if you are a loose tea drinker you'll need a separate strainer with this pot. Like all falcon ware, it's very easy to clean, dishwasher-proof but because it is metal it should never be used in the microwave. It holds roughly 4 x 400ml mugs of tea without being so large you'd not want to take it anywhere. The handle doesn't get too hot, but be mindful of the lid, when refilling. This is a design that has stood the test of time for a reason, its sheer practicality. For modern tastes, its simplicity lends it a certain elegance, and of course, as part of a picnic set, it can help reduce the use of plastics. If dropped the enamel may chip (& is repairable) but it won't break. These are products that with reasonable care should last for decades and won't go out of fashion for the frugally minded among us.

Love it
I love the pot look and size. It can fit 6 medium size tea cups. Too bad I can't use it directly on the cooktop without damaging the enamel.

Perfect for camper van
Makes a fantastic cup of tea, and is bigger than I expected after reading previous reviews.Took advice of another reviewer and put a rubber band around the top to aid lifting the lid. This teapot will do a great job in the camper van!

Disappointing
Not so good, the knob on the lid is impossible to grip when hot, I drilled it and screwed a small round knob on top. The lid tends to fall off when pouring. The the pot is very prone to drips

Looks good but lid is impractical
It looks great - just as described. However, the lid is impractical as you can't lift it up by the knob on top. You have to hold the whole lid to take it off. When you empty the last few drops of tea out it leaks out from the top - it's not a close fitting lid.

enamel teapor
My mum is 85 yrs old. Wanted an enamel teapot for christmas. In the 1940s everybody used these teapots as she told me. they make the best cup of tea with tea bags or tea leaves. My mum got this one for Christmas and is over the moon with it. It gets used every day
