Disappointing - don’t buy
I wanted these as a quiet and convenient alternative to an electric trimmer to cut the grass on the edges of the fence which the lawnmower couldn’t get to. They took a bit of practice to get the balance right and and the cutting motion and for the first year they worked ok. Since then the cutting blades don’t seem to sit right and I have gap in between them which means they don’t cut the grass. I have tried various things like sharpening them and adjusting them but nothing appears to work. They were so frustrating to use it was easier to pull the longer grass up with your hands rather than use the shears. I have now gone out a bought an electric trimmer which works far more effectively and the shears have been thrown out and a waste of money.

Strain-free edging
I struggle with edging the grass due to a back injury, I had to abandon using my small handheld shears when I could no longer bend forward. I chose these for the horizontal blades, to trim around pavers sunk into the grass, and they've made life much easier. The flat blades get right under the edges of the grass and are strong and sharp, so I get a nice straight line around my pavers and along the lawn edges. They make edging the grass relatively easy, although it's never going to be my favourite thing at least I no longer dread it.

Packaging procedure
Item ok but could have been damaged or even lost in transit. The package was not securely fastened, there were loose staples in the package which was held together by selotape which had come unstuck. The tool could have easily fallen out. There was no documentation which makes me believe it had fallen out! Fortunately the tool was undamaged albeit the blades were protruding from the package, and could have caused injury.

Well made, strong, cuts well but heavy to use
I considered reviews of other shears before settling on this one. It was pretty well the most expensive but I wanted good quality and durability. I am impressed with the quality of the construction. The blades should last for ever, judging by their thickness. The cutting ability is impressive, especially after my old shears which were handed down from my father and must have been about 50 + years old..The downsides are:They are very heavy to useThey seem to need an application of oil or WD40 on the blades after each use to free them as they become stiff in use.The angle of the handles is not ideal for me and they don't feel completely comfortable to use.Overall, however, I'm glad I bought them.

Excellent for purpose
After more than two month's use these shears have proved excellent for trimming lawn edges and tufts too high for the mower. Positive action with tension that can be adjusted. A little heavy in use, which some may consider an advantage, but others may find tiring with prolonged use on a large area.

Well made
Well made, and great for long grass, if you don't have strimmer, and no vibration of course. I am 5 10 tall and I find them ok length wise. I am quite strong, so might not suit every one. And very quiet too.lol

Ok so far.
Fast delivery, well packed. Used it on the day it arrived, good, Cuts well, right length of handles as my husband who is nearly six foot will mostly be using it. Weight is fine, not the lightest but then for regular use you don't want something flimsy that won't last. Prefer to use this to a strimmer as its more precise and doesn't send grass cuttings everywhere. Ideal for around bushes and tress etc.

Good value for money
Several reviewers have commented that the angle of the blade to the handle is too shallow. I'm 5'10" and I did not find the angle too shallow. In any event, a more acute angle is not really practical for this design which is simple (no fancy mechanism), with nothing go wrong if properly maintained and cleaned after every use. My wife is 5'0" and she finds them good as well. In summary, they are no better or worse than what I expected for the money and above all, they do the job.
