Powerful and easy to use!
The very long power cord gives great flexibility around the yard. Lightweight and well designed. Highly recommend!

700 W unit is very powerful, no cut off switch, and you will need safety googles and gloves
Bought the 700 W unit. This probably is more than enough for most people. It is very very powerful and will make short work of thick long grass. As mentioned elsewhere, debris will be thrown up if you position it wrong, so definitely wear safety googles (or better safety face shield). Also wear gloves, and don't have bare arms or sleeves, the debris is kicked up abit. (if you grass is short and light, you probably will be ok)The cables are definitely thicker and more robust than my previous 200 W flymo, so seem to last longer. This is a medium to heavy duty item, and cleared grass in less than 10 minutes when it normally took 30 minutes before. it is slightly heavier as a unit, but not overly so that you can't lift it, but check the weight. This unit if tougher and will get through grass almost as good as a petrol unit . You won't have to go over the grass more than once or twice. Just make sure you don't hit the soil as it will make short work of loose soil as well....but that's the price you pay for a powerful unit

Fantastically powerful strimmer - but beware!
I bought this strimmer to replace a very basic, DIY store own-label, strimmer I had owned for a couple of years. It was OK, took a long time to do the job, but halfway through this year’s first-cut Spring grass strimming, before I was going to put the mower on the lawn, the strimmer literally burst into flames. It just couldn’t take it.So, I thought, OK, I clearly need something with a bit more horsepower, and I bought this one.Within a few seconds, I realised I was holding onto a very different device. This fellow not only strimmed grass and weeds, it hated them with a passion and wanted to annihilate them. I started swinging it like my old strimmer, which I now realise used to perform like an old lady with a pair of nail-scissors.This strimmer is the Chuck Norris of strimmers. If you angle it a few degrees too much, you end up with a large patch of bare earth that no longer contains a single molecule of grass DNA. And Chuck is happy with that result. If you strim close to a mature tree (which my old strimmer did, leaving no visible marks), Chuck wants to cut the entire tree down. It even left deep welts in concrete paving! So, beware! If you have a well-manicured, small garden and just want to trim a few straggly edges, Chuck is not for you. It is like sending in a fully-armed soldier to resolve a disagreement in the school playground. However, if you have a large area to clear, with tall grass and weeds, and you don’t mind a few chunks of bare earth when your aim dips from 20-degrees to 22-degrees, or seeing some sturdy saplings that suddenly look the worse for wear, then Chuck is the very fellow for you.You have been warned.

Very tough - easily handles brambles and bracken, light to use.
There's not a bad word to be said about this amazing strimmer. I had my previous one (same model) since creating my garden from scratch almost 5 years ago. Think of rough scottish hillside, tough grasses, brambles and bracken. It's very light to use, easily handles any grasses you put its way and with the heavy duty short cords cuts brambles and bracken. There's also finer cord on reels with a head to fit this but have only used this a bit but it would be plenty for an average civilised garden!

Seasonmaster Review
I bought the Seasonmaster to replace an 18v lawn edger/strimmer, a long reach mains hedge trimmer & an 18v lightweight hedge trimmer - having used the Seasonmaster for a day, I'm not sure it will replace any of them:Overall the product is very robust, easy to assemble and simple to use - two 18v batteries are also included.Practical use:[a] The strimmer head does not rotate so it's difficult to use as a lawn-edger, but strimmer is powerful.[b] The strimmer extension arm also doubles as the arm for the hedge trimmer - so the overall length for the extended hedge trimmer is about half that of my current mains version.[c] The robust build means all the tool options are much heavier than my stand alone tools - which is really noticeable for the extended tools.[d] The chunky design also means it's not that easy swapping the tools over - everything needs a bit of a knock to break apart (the unit is brand new so this may get easier.....or harder). I'm an average age/average build/average bloke so this could prove difficult for some.I was hoping this tool would save me space in the shed and save multiple battery chargers but I suspect I'll end up keeping two of everything. I've not tried the blower or chain-saw yet so they may be the bonus and the tools are really powerful compared to my older versions.

Important: change the original wire. Overall good product
The device is cheap, but has impressive potentials. After going through the original 2mm wire like crazy (it was auto feeding way too often), I found a video on youtube of a guy showing the problem is the engine being a bit too powerful and "bumpy" and the auto feed giving away wire at every aceleration/deceleration. Way around that is simple: undo all the original 2mm wore and buy a spool of 2.4mm standard wire. Not only being thicker it makes better use of the 900w motor, but the weight of the wire is enough not to overdo with the auto feeder, or in many case to stop the auto feeder completely. Downside is that the wire sometimes needs to be fed manually. But keep in mind that the wire consumes a lot slower. I found it changed completely now with the 2.4mm wire, it is a different machine. It will never compare with a proper strimmer with proper 33cm+ head, no chance. However, it is a brilliant compromise that works perfectly if the job is not a massive one.Alternatives are petrol or professional ones, like the 56v battery powered strimmers, which would set you £400 down.
