Power a tailgate party
Absolutely amazing product!! Highly recommend that you keep one in your vehicle. I'll break down what I've used it for and what I like.USB ports: charge well in about the same time as plugging into a wall outlet. Be careful with the on/off as it does not automatically turn on when you plug in a device. The on/off for the USB is a different button than the inverter power button.Car outlets: both work normal if you operate within the proper power draw.AC outlets: very handy. They work as they should. I've used them for speakers, fans, lights, etc.Air compressor: worked well for airing small toys and balls. Have not used it on a car tire yet. It come with a couple if attachment including a needle so you don't have to worry about keeping up with them separately.Jumper cables: WORK HORSE. The day after I got this my car broke down (turns out I needed a new alternator). I used this pack to jump off the car 6 times on one charge AND ended up hooking it directly to the battery to get the car home. Yes I know that is not technically what you should use it for, but you gotta do what you gotta do. After all that I got home and the pack was still on 47% of battery.Personally I am very impressed with this pack. I bought it as an alternative for a generator to power electronics at tailgate parties. My Beats by dre Beatbox portable speaker uses about 1% of battery per hour. Running a standard box fan uses about 25% of battery per hour. Lights-- depending on the kind-- vary greatly. I used a college dorm style 5 bulb lamp that used about 30% of battery per hour. A normal lamp uses about 10% per hour. A strand of Christmas lights use minimal battery. This is my experience with the pack. I tried to provide as much detail as I could for someone who is looking to use this the same way that I did. The work light on the top is not too powerful but will help in a bad situation. The thing takes a long time to charge when plugged into a wall outlet. Plan on overnight and don't worry about it. I hope this helps!!

It works as advertised
My old Husky Jump Starter finally died...it was a slow and sad death. I went to Amazon to purchase a new one..but as always, there were endless choices. I scoured through many units, reading reviews and user experiences. None of the models in my price range had sterling reviews. So that made my decision much more difficult. I finally decided to try this one. The day it arrived was the first day it was used to jump start a car for my tenant. To my surprise, it started on the first turn of the key. Now THAT was impressive. A tire on my car has a slow leak so it has been used several times for tire inflating. It fills to the right pressure but it is not fast. It is louder than most inflaters that were previously owned, but it does get the job done. The pressure gauge is reasonable accurate. It says to keep the unit always charging. I do not care for that. I prefer to charge it and have enough battery power to get maybe a month before needing the recharge. There is an LED on the front that indicates the remaining power. It has been unplugged for two weeks and the LED still shows green...meaning that it still has sufficient power. When it turns to orange, I will plug it in. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase.

So far, so good - no longer - Update #2
The battery died in my old one. A replacement battery was so expensive, I just bought a new unit. This one has a digital, settable air inflation feature that I really like. I just set the pressure plus 1 psi, connect the hose and turn it on. I can then do something else while it fills the tire. I don't have to stand there watching the pressure gauge.I followed the charging recommendation for the initial charge. It appears to really need that. I tried to use it early and it did not last long. After the full charge, it is working OK. I have used it as a 12VDC power supply and for AC functions and it appears to be working well. I rarely need it to jump-start a vehicle nad have not tried that yet - and hope I don't.The air pressure hose has a screw-on straight connector. This is more air-tight than the clip-on, right-angle connectors. The problem is arthritis in my hands make it hard to screw it on. I purchased an adapter, mine is marketed by Slime, and it works great. My last one, by another vendor, lasted about 4 years. I decided on this one because of the power rating, digital pressure operation, and AC inverter.UPDATE: The air compressor causes the unit to shut down. I can air up one tire but after that, the unit shuts down. This is probably a thermal interrupt somewhere. I have tried to contact the MFR support with no results, no contact at all. I have tried sitting on hold on the phone for an hour at a time, no answer. I have tried contacting them through the contact forms on their website, no response. At this point, I cannot recommend this product as there is NO support in the event there is a problem. I am seriously disappointed.Additional update: Still no response to warranty requests. This is a MUST AVOID.Update #2: I finally got in touch with DieHard but they sent me back to Amazon. Amazon does not understand why they did that since it is their product and their warranty and I agree 100% with Amazon. I expected DieHard to pony up. Amazon is going to take care of me but this should not be their problem. I am happy with Amazon but still not happy with DieHard about this situation and warranty processing. Thank you Amazon and Keith, the agent, for helping me out.
