Davina - High Energy Five [DVD]

Great Fun!
I bought this as a second hand DVD and it was in perfect condition and delivery was excellent as always. I already have Davina's Power of 3 and had good results from this within 3 weeks of doing it - I am 50 years of age, a little overweight, but not particularly unfit and just felt I should pay attention to those flabby bits that frighten me when I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror. I absolutely love the High Energy Five, particularly the aerobics and boxercise sections. The legs, arms and abs sections are similar to the Power of 3, but I don't really mind this. Both the videos have made a different to my fitness and my body shape in 5 and a half weeks but having said that I have done one or the other nearly every day. How long I can keep this up only time will tell !! I am also watching what I eat which will obviously also be helping. I enjoyed the 30 minute workout DVD but not as much as the other two, but if you're busy I can see that they would be useful. I've always been wary of celebrity workout DVDs but I think these are excellent and they work.

High energy is right!
I bought this DVD on the strength that (a) Davina's Power of 3 is a really good DVD, and (b) you can see the results by the way Davina looks. I was not disappointed! If you like Davina, I think you'll like this DVD. It's not easy going, but it leaves you with a real sense of achievement. The moves are not overly complicated (which is where a lot of celebrity workouts fall down for me - I'm just a woman who is a bit bigger than she wants to be, but I'm no dancer, so if the moves are too tricky, I can't be bothered).Davina is motivating, inspirational and funny, just as she is on TV. And with 5 sections to choose from, I think it's excellent value for money - I can't see me getting tired of it, which is a real plus point if you want to do it a few times a week. It's not surprising that this DVD has so many positive reviews - it really is THAT good!

love love love it
having tried many other celeb dvds (my other favourite being claire richards) i was a bit scared to try a Davina workout after many saying how tough it was.. but then bit the bullet and purchased this as i liked the idea of 20 minute sections which you could pick and choose.I AM SO HAPPY I CHOSE THIS. the sections are fun and challenging but not impossible and not so tough that you lose interest. Davina is fun and not annoying at all, it really feels like she is experiencing it like you are and is so happy when the sections end!they recommend doing 2 sections back to back but i dont have the attention span for that and attempt to do one a day instead. i like that i feel worked the next day but not so sore that im put off trying it again.. i feel you would get quicker results doing 40 mins a day but this fits into my lifestyle very well.never going back to any other dvd :)

A great addition to my Davina collection
Davina's workouts are just brilliant - they are doing wonders to the shape of my thighs and this one is even better with the new aerobics section as well as kickboxing as I have a bit (a lot!!) of xmas weight to shift. The separate sections are great for mixing and matching and I'm still using the old dvds too for greater variety.I like all the general advice that Davina and Mark and Jackie give too. Esp when Mark says that if she moans he makes her work harder to shut her up - I've tried that when I feel like really being a bit hard of myself and it works! I *can* do a few extra sit ups without bursting/dying when you really push yourself. Brilliant stuff.I also love the mostly music option (which, lets face it, is all music) - it makes it a bit less boring once you know the routines (and banter) fairly well as you have to think about what you are doing, and the music is really motivating up a bit louder with no voices to ruin it. Make sure you do the routines a few times first though as their hints about posture etc are excellent.

Hard work - but fun & worth it!
I've owned fitness DVD's before & have found them to be repetitive, boring & uninspiring... & have, not surprisingly, very quickly lost interest. This is the first 'celebrity' fitness DVD i've bought as i hate the whole celebrity culture thing & have refused to buy into it. However, i've read time & again how good Davina's workouts are & as celebrities go i don't mind her too much!Firstly i want to say if you can't stand Davina (as i know many people can't) DON'T rule out this excellent DVD - one of it's extra's is a mostly music version with little vocal input from the lady herself! This DVD is fantastic! The workouts are great & Davina & her trainers are really engaging. Davina isn't too proud to sweat or show when it's hard which is a real comfort when you feel like your own legs are about to fall off!The workouts ARE hard... i'm very unfit & have struggled but throughout the sections you are shown 'easier' options to follow i.e stepping instead of jumping. You can do this long enough to catch your breath & then just join in again with the more intense exercises that Davina continues to follow when you're ready.Although hard work the DVD is fun! That's why i've continued to push myself instead of giving up - as i would have done with a dull DVD. Davina & her trainers are really engaging & entertaining... & watching Mark doing the 'Cha Cha' steps in Warm Up had me in stitches! Watch it once but don't try to watch him whilst doing the exercises - you'll laugh too much to follow them!I've only had the DVD a very short time & have already lost weight & noticed it's toning effect. The best £12 i've spent in a long time!
