I bought this a couple of months ago. Didn’t realise at the time you don’t actually need it as you can connect on all platforms using the app. You can connect via Ethernet using this if you want or via WiFi rather than using the app. I connected via WiFi yesterday to the Tomato WiFi. I did an ip check and it as displaying my own virgin IP. I have used the app when connected to my normal Wi-fi and via the Tomato Wi-fi and when on my iMac it still displays my Virgin IP. My daughters PC, both our iPads and my Apple MacBook Air it works using Tomato or my own wifi with app, but on my iMac it won't work, which is the one I really wanted it for.I'm assuming there's something on my iMac which is stopping it working.IP Vanish tell me that can't possibly happen if connected to the Tomato, but it does!!

Range is patchy, some days connects and not others. So i don't feel I can return it saying it is faulty it's just ok, I did pay what I feel is a price for a product of a higher quality but I do feel a bit dissapointed, I don't know if it's because of what it does, but you cannot do a speed test and get a decent reported speed. Saying that, when it does connect and run I get no buffering at all which would indicate a good speed. I did concider putting it in a different location to see how it performs. Life takes over and haven't had time. If I do and it improves I will update this.

You need a seriously fast connection. I have BT Infinity which usually connects at 65-70Mb/S. It says in the instructions to go by how useable it is, rather than compare numbers so... Before installing this my partner and I could easily watch two separate 4K streams on Netflix. With it, Netfix will just about manage two 1080 streams on a good day. But 4K? Forget it. It really does throttle your bandwidth enormously.

Don't bother to buy completely rubbish. Your better off to buy Asus router
