great for pros but not a beginner
This is a really nice present to someone i bought it for my boyfriend for Christmas and he loves it. however this is definitely not for a beginner. it is hard to set up and also hard to use the telescope is so pin point that you really have to be exactly on the mark to see anything - i would not recommend this for a child as i don't think they'd have the patience to use it but it would be better suited for a teenager/adult as a gift

great value for money, could be steadier though
Excellent value for money, but build quality is not the greatest, several things wobble slightly that should be steady which affects viewing distant things like jupiter. Other than that great.
