No B.S. Trust Based Marketing: The Ultimate Guide to Creating Trust in an Understandibly Un-trusting World

WOW!! The absolute BEST book on marketing and prospect psychology I've ever read!
I've got books- lots of them- about copywriting, advertising, and marketing. Many of them are classics, written by such greats as Olgivy, Capels, Sugarman, and, yes, even Dan Kennedy. But, none ever grabbed me by the shirt collars, and shook the hell out of me like this one did.Follow the advice in this book, and no longer will you have to dial for dollars, deal with unreasonable customers, or spend hour, upon unproductive hour, chasing a commission.Instead, They are chasing you. You're setting the standards and calling the shots.Imagine turning down prospects because THEY don't meet your requirements.Get this book, and get a stack of legal pads. STUDY the information in this book as if your future depended on it, because it does. I know I am.Wait! (FACEPALM) What am I saying? Forget what I wrote above.Don't buy this book; it's horrible. Worst advice I ever read. Keep doing what you're doing. Don't change a thing about how you do business.

Some of Dan's ideas are good, some are bad, and a few are truly ugly
Dan Kennedy somehow manages to turn even building trust into something sleazy. "If you're a new dentist and want to give the illusion of a thriving practice, rent some cars and park 'em in your lot. Change 'em up periodically."Can you imagine what would happen to your potential patients' trust if someone figured out that's what you're doing?"If you're a carpet cleaner wanting to get into a new area, park your truck in front of various people's houses for a few hours at a time." That should fool them into trusting you! Yikes! Some of his material is worthwhile. That's why I gave the book three stars. But you'd have to be a shyster to use some of his ideas. That's why I ONLY gave the book three stars.

Do not buy this garbage. End the cycle.
This line on the first page tells you everything you need to know about this book -- "You may skip over this chapter if you are NOT interested in getting rich. Chapter 2 begins on page 13." If you don't find this to be an idiotic and manipulative sales technique, then you should buy more of the products he is using this book to sell. It is the epitome of the high pressure sales techniques I was trying to learn how to avoid. As a former active duty military officer, trust was the currency of leadership, and this person knows nothing about it. The entire book sells himself rather than knowledge. The nice thing about the kindle is being able to highlight. I normally spend my time highlighting good points by authors. This time I spent it highlighting every time he wrote something that sounded overly salesman-ish and reduced my trust in him as an authority - the exact opposite of what he was theoretically trying to teach me to do. I ended up reading it only to discover the tricks that charlatans like him (and Donald Trump whom he holds on a pedestal) use to "sell trust" rather "earn trust" so that I can more easily compete against them. The best thing I got out of this book was sitting around drinking and reading passages aloud with friends laughing about how outdated and infantile it is.That being said, I am still personally ashamed to have contributed whatever share of $9.99 these guys got out of it.

So good
One of Dan’s best. Read it. It’s a more in depth expansion and more important version of his no bs sales book.

What's old is new again
I reviewed this book at 5 stars, the reason is somewhat sentimental. Being 56 years old I can remember from my childhood quite a bit of what Dan is sharing in this book. People were cut from a different cloth back then meaning their heart felt genuineness and care to put forth the best service or product was paramount, delivering outstanding customer service and knowing their customers by name and the names of their children was the standard... which naturally built equity. It's amazing to see these values come full circle. The book is more than worth the price, no doubt. Thanks Dan now I can continue to incorporate my old school values with a contemporary spin.

Back in the saddle
I've been buying Kennedy's books since the mid/late-90's.His early stuff was extraordinary- hard-hitting, practical and to-the-point.Some of Dan's more recent books had been a bit on the weak side, particularly those that featured umpteen co-authors.This one reminds me of the "Classic (not Steely) Dan."He gets straight to the heart of the matter, and if you don't have the trust issue under control,NOTHING else is going to work as well as it should. He expands quite a bit on some of these topicsin some of the sales-based offerings on his website, but thankfully, this book felt less like a pitch-fest than some of his others.

I'm Amazed
Full Disclosure here. I've been a Kennedy student for nearly 20 years. Having read every book in the No BS series (several times usually with note pad and highlighter in hand) I was expecting to find in Trust-Based Marketing what I have received from the other books in the series. A handful of valuable and useful new information and ideas and also a good kick in the pants for motivation. I'm amazed the content of this book is SO MUCH more. For my use this book is proving to be the finest in the No BS series. Incredible content. Thanks Dan & Matt!

Dan Kennedy's best work yet
I receive this book on Thursday, started reading on Friday and finished it Sunday afternoon; I couldn't put it down. I've read most of Dan's books and think this is one of, if not THE best one he's done. Matt Zagula's real world examples and strategies help tremendously. I have six pages of Action Item notes. I got more out of this book than I did the $10,000 Trust Based Marketing Workshop of Dan & Matt's I attended, and that was very good. This book is GREAT!I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone where increased trust will help you grow your businesses successfully (that's EVERYONE).

TRUST ME - This Book is Worth Reading to Understand How to Build Trust in Your Business Fast
I'm not always a fan of Dan Kennedy's books. He treats a lot of his books as though they were a giant sales letter - or that's how it seems to me sometimes. He does a bit of that in this book - he certainly makes sure you know how much money he gets paid by his clients - but I was loving this book so much I didn't mind! And, he weaved in the stories of how much he charges while explaining how his own client acquisition system is all set up to establish trust before he even meets his client. That made is really interesting and certain established his credibility (one of the keys to trust!).I took a lot of notes and found it useful, interesting, engaging, and most of all, easy to apply to any business!Business owners, sales people and anyone in marketing will be glad they read this book. Whether you're face to face with your clients or you're direct mailing letters, this is a step by step guide to help you build more trust in your relationships, business and products/services.Here's something from early in the book that really got me paying attention to how people react to messages and solicitations "You can forget all the rational reasons no one should fear you. They do. Most people are quietly, privately frightened by just about everything in their lives and every decision they make. Don't take it personally."It's not just that people distrust salespeople it's that they distrust themselves WITH the salespeople. That's a big challenge to overcome but he lays it out very nicely as to how you can systematically build trust with anyone in any business. So knowing that, what can you do to create trust? He answers that question clearly so you'll have to read it to find out. :)

Excellent book - well written and lots of concrete to-do's
This book is filled with concrete actions you can take to market your business in ways that will engender trust. It tells you why you need your customers to trust you and what not to do. I know it seems obvious that you would want potential customers to see you as trustworthy, but he illustrates -- quite graphically -- that most businesses ACT as though they don't care about our trust.I highly recommend this book.
