Glad I kept the old remote until the new one came so I could see how the code was set. There are no instructions but I found info about the code in my users booklet although the code itself was not there. I assume they set it when the fan was installed. It was just a matter of setting the 6 little sliders, located just above the batteries, up or down. Once the code was correct it worked perfectly.

I moved into a new house and the ceiling remote was not working.I could not control the fan and the light at the same time the fan was just on with the light and only one speed so I wasn’t getting the use of the fan to its fullest potentialI ordered the replacement remote. It took a long time to come in, but to my surprise as soon as I put the batteries in it worked so I was very happy.

I order this remote for a client that as having trouble with her old remote. I explained to her how to program it for when it got to her how so o would have to charge her just for doing that. When she got the remote she was able to program it by herself.

I bought this remote to replace a faulty Emerson remote and it resolved the problems I was having. Emerson has gone out of business. So while I felt fortunate to find a replacement remote, the price was higher than expected.

I tried repeatedly to program this remote with my fan, following the instructions. But it would not work. When I tried to return it (well within 30 days), Amazon's site said I could NOT return it. This is extremely annoying since the product's web page does NOT say that this is a non-returnable item. I called Amazon's customer service and they eventually did accept the return though.

I have had to buy/use three replacements for my Emerson fan/light. They are not dependable. Be sure to check the layout of the remote. I got this one but it didn't have a button for changing the direction of the fan. Great fans/lights, but untrustworthy remotes.
