Arsvita Walkman Cassette Player, Portable Tape Recorder, Build-in Speaker and Microphone, Black

I bought this cassette recorder to load and save programs for a 40-year-old 8-bit computer. They are usually notorious for taking multiple attempts to save or record. But once I dialed in the settings, (just a little off the max), it worked every time. The fact that it worked so reliably to this old Timex Sinclair 2068 computer, means that it faithfully records and plays the sound perfectly. So even the audio file should be able to appreciate this. I also enjoy the fact that it can be powered by a USB power source, if I don't want to use batteries. This recorder is very small, and would be easy to fit in a coat pocket or a purse.

If you’re getting this to listen to music it is okay. If you’re getting this to record a tape, run away. It picks up the sound of the tape machine regardless of if I plugged in an alternative microphone or not. This resulted in a tape that sounded like a radio station out of range. Would NOT recommend.

My dad is legally blind. He uses this for "reading" books. It is easy for him to use.

To start, I bought this product to record my voice (I’m making a gift for someone); despite the negative reviews on recording, I still got this product with some cassette tapes to go with it. Upon arrival, I read the instructions thoroughly on how to upkeep the cassette player/recorder and found it to be easy to use and keep in good condition. After a few successful recordings I deemed the microphone to work well, but then came the latest recordings on the same tape.The sound got a lot quieter and I thought it might be the microphone, but when I played it back again the volume was loud and clear (aside from the slight hiss most hand-held cassette players have with their output which just comes with any handheld cassette player, kinda a nostalgic sound if you ask me). What I had found is that on those recordings I didn’t either tense the tape or slack when it was too tense or relaxed before recording and so it was like when earlier recordings were quiet on playback the new ones would be loud and vice-verse (which is my own fault, the instructions do say you should use high-quality tapes if you want to record, I’m guessing for a consistent tension on the tapes to avoid that problem).Another thing I found was that sometimes the cassette player will play too fast, but only with batteries. My guess on that is either belts may get misaligned here and there or maybe the batteries can have power surges here and there that supply too much power to the player??It’s easy to use and maintain, and so long as you’re actually using tapes right before recording you’ll get good results. I don’t regret this purchase.

I got this to listen to my old foreign language learning tapes and this little device is better than I thought it would be. The sound is great, it feels sturdy - oftentimes cassette players can feel fragile) and I love that it has a reverse and record functionality- and another big plus is the usb charger connector.

It makes a really weird noise, and doesn't work. Got this for my daughter and it worked maybe two times the whole tome she has had it. Waste of money, now I have to buy another one!

very happy with this cassette player - he has a whole bunch of cassette tapes and has this player hooked up in his car - he says it plays loud enough and clear enough and really enjoys this itemthank you

The media could not be loaded. The appearance and size were nice. However, the quality of recording and playback were terrible which makes this device unusable.The mic picks up the internal sound of the device rather or more than what you’re actually recording and that’s at close range. This would make it totally unusable if one was trying to record a lecture or meeting.
