Instructions that come with the bike are poor, and there is scant information online. Know that to adjust the brakes, use the hex wrench (included) to loosen the screw that holds the brake wire; then, raise or lower the brake lever relative to the wire to control the sensitivity of the brake. Test by squeezing the brake. I prefer mine to catch fully at about half-squeeze.Spin your tires to see if they make any sound of resistance against the brake, when no brakes are applied. If there is resistance, loosen the caliper (the housing that pinches the brake pads) with the hex screws above and below, then look through it and tighten it back up in a position where the brake pads don't pinch the brake rotor.Make sure you get the brakes working right before heading out on the road! Feel comfortable with your knowledge before going out and finding you've got something wrong!Additional note: pedaling while bike is on activates electric assist after about 5 seconds. Otherwise, you can use the throttle, but it drains the battery about twice as fast. On hilly terrain, brand new, battery will go about 16 miles on a full charge on level 3 pedal assist. I commute to work on country roads and it's great, but I recommend investing in a rear-view mirror and a few extra lights.I have rode in heavy rain in very humid conditions (Oregon) and no problems, yet. In case you're concerned if all the electronics (like the control panel) are waterproof, they seem to be. This is after 2 weeks riding. Will see if bike holds up.
