24 Hour Digital Immersion Heater Timer LG-DIHT

I bought these to replace the traditional immersion heater switches on the wall. Why? I wanted to guarantee hot water when necessary, without the hassle of having to remember whether the water heaters had been on and for how long. They fitted as a straight-forward replacement, out of the box, without any glitches and have saved us a great deal of headaches. Even though the text on the screen is small, I am glad I bought this timer and would highly recommend this product to others considering a similar replacement. There is a rechargeable battery included so the timer is not prone to power cuts and one can program up to 6 operations daily. The entire unit is very easy to program and override manually.

I bought two of these to control some 400W panel heaters in different rooms. They worked perfectly so I purchased another two and all are working fine. The units are good quality and give you up to 6 on/off times per day which is more than the other digital timers I looked at like the Siemens RWB27 which only has 3 on/off times per day. The units are easy to wire and have an internal backup battery for your settings. A larger display would be nice as the LCD display is very small but once you have set it, there is no need to play with it again.

This timer is in spite of other comments not really that hard to see the screen even though it is a bit small. The programming is simple enough. I found the wiring up easy to understand. The only real problem I had hence the loss of a star was that this was to replace a simple on/off immersion heater switch where the wire to the tank came from a hole in the front of the switch. This has no such hole so a hole had to be drilled through the surrounding plaster and the metal box the unit screws too which was a bit of a job to do. With this issue resolved it would get 5 stars in my book. EXTRA A couple of years down the line the LCD screen is failing so I guess a new switch will be needed soon which is a shame as it has worked ok up till now Edward Walker

Don't touch this product, failure rate is shocking, my second one has just packed up after less than one year since installation. It is clearly underated and not suitable for a standard 3 KW immersion heater, the clock still works fine but the switching circuit has failed ( same fault for both units I have installed ) Save your money and go for a clock that is fit for purpose.

Found it easy to fit but was surprised that no screws were supplied to attach it to the back box that you have to buy separately. It is easy to program and it appears to be doing the job of switching my immersion heater on and of twice daily. Love the back up battery so the timer keeps going even if there is a power cut.

Excellent product and so easy to setup and use. It really is not a problem not having it back lit, although it would be helpful to have a LED to indicate if it was switched on. I am using this to control external lights and the simple push once on and once off is great especially as it fits straight into the previous light switch back-box. The timing can also control by the day, something missed by all the other reviews (that I have read). I would definitely get another for any timer controlled function. Don't limit it to the immersion!

I bought one of these on Amazon in 2013. It's now died. The battery back-up is gone and it won't restart after returning home after a few days away. There's no way to turn it off so if you are going away and you don't want to keep your hot water on you have to turn it off at the supply. It consistently lost time at the rate of about 10-15 minutes a week so every few weeks I had to reset the clock. The display is very small and there's no backlight. Ii wouldn't recommend it. Pay the extra £10 for a better one

Purchased this item from Palmer Riley Electrical, thro' Amazon. Easy to install and programme, but failed to switch on. Contacted Palmer Riley who were first class. I sent the old unit back and received a replacement by return and my postage costs were refunded. The replacement works fine (only been fitted 1 week) and does the job well. Only criticism is that there isn't a light to see the display.
