Detector pad for the Astric Dry-Bed Bedwetting Alarm

We had tried everything and I mean everything and were left with only option of considering medication for our ten year old who was still in pull ups. We tried this as a recommendation and we didn’t make progress for about 2 weeks and the lack of sleep and increased washing meant we were close to quitting then we saw progress and after 3 weeks we began to see more dry than wet. Progress continued and now we have removed the alarm and are now 3 months post alarm and no wet nights. My best advice FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS with regards to how to keep diary and how long to keep it in the bed after you start getting dry nights. We definitely took it out too early thinking she had cracked it and there was regression after a few months so we had to start all over again. However we stuck to the instructions this time and it worked. Sleepovers and wild camping are now planned

This has been absolutely fantastic. We ordered a spare so they could be swapped quickly during the night if needed. We had tried a number of methods before this but our 7 year old just wouldn’t wake up to go to the toilet. After the first week we had our first completely dry night. The second week we had more dry nights with only a few slightly wet nights, by week 3 we were having all dry nights. As recommended, we kept the mat on for a further 3 weeks of dry nights and he remained dry throughout and has continued to be. Thanks to this method he is now able to wake himself up when he needs the toilet! It worked fantastic!! Tiring the first week, but persevere because it has definitely worked for our little boy.

I previously had a base pad that broke which was made of a soft rubber like flexible material which was quiet and comfortable for the child. This replacement product is made from a hard rigid card like material and is very uncomfortable and it is obvious that it is in use; not good for children who don't like using a matt and don't want their siblings to know it is on the bed. I cannot recommend this product.

Amazing! Bought for 6 year old who would sleep through wetting the bed and wake up in the morning soaked and would have one to two dry nights a month.Week one and two she had two dry nights both weeks, then four, then five. Currently on week 8 and she has been dry for two weeks straight and will wake up and go to the toilet herself.After the first couple of times off the alarm going off she started to sleep through the noise and I would have to wake her and switch the alarm off so was worried it wouldn’t work but it did! The first couple of weeks were tough but so glad we stuck with it.On an extra note we bought a spare pad as had read it was hard to dry and alarm would deactivate however we wrapped a bath towel round it as per instructions and never had a problem drying it easily so spare pad has not been needed.

As described and well packed. Arrived on time. Early days yet but the alarm is not currently waking the child.

The unit has stopped working after a month, the matt was cleaned in accordance to advice. The alarm has stopped working, I tried replacing the batteries and using the spare matt purchased at the time of purchase. It is not even a month old and it has failed. A shame as it was working well. I hope that Astric respond and refund or replace the unit.

This mat sorted things in a matter of about a week for my 7 year old and I have two friends who used it with their children successfully (and fast) too. Highly recommend this! One of the 3 are autistic, one has a rare genetic disorder and than other is neuro typical...it worked for hem all, and all used it at age 7.

This was not comfortable for our child, but worked well at first so we persevered. We have bought three of these in total. After the second one failed, we contacted Astric and they sent a replacement under warranty. Fair enough. Then that replacement failed. I contacted Astric and they offered by way of explanation that the mats were being damaged by urine. I am aware of someone else’s mat failing similarly. We are giving up with this and trying something else. It’s a shame because the alarm controller unit itself is simple and reliable, but the mats don’t last and it’s a lot of money to spend on a regular basis.
