I needed a 16' cable to connect MacBook Pro 16(2021), MacOS Sonoma 14.4.1 to OWC Thunderbolt 11-port docking station. Tried: Amazon: etguuds Extra Long USB C to USB C Cable [ 16ft/5m PD 60W Type C to Type C Cable Fast Charge, Durable Double Braided Nylon USB-C to USB-C Charger Charging Cord 2.0 - Black. That cable provided power and internet connectivity, but MacBook could not see the external hard disk drives connected via usb 3.0 to dock Noted very helpful Amazon comment that this product frequently returned. Wrote to Cable Matters, explained my intended configuration in detail, got this response: "Thank you for reaching out. We recommend a 40Gbps Thunderbolt cable, however, we don’t offer such a Thunderbolt cable in 16ft. as an alternative, you can try our 20Gbps Active USB4 Cable, which supports up to 20Gbps data transfer speed. However, we can’t guarantee it will work as it’s an active cable and could have some unforeseen compatibility issues. Feel free to give it a shot though. If it turns out not to work as intended, you can always return it within 30 days." So, with healthy mindset of: "No one can tell me if this will work. I'll buy it, try it, and if it doesn't work I'll return it immediately and move onto the next plan". I have a nominal 500 Mbps Spectrum internet connection to my home. Ookla Mac speed test gives me: 572 Mbps download, 22 Mbps upload in middle of day to a residential area. These speeds are virtually identical to those to my PC, (not using this cable).

Egal ob für Datenübertragung oder zum Laden von Endgeräten. Endlich ein Kabel auf das Verlass ist. So viele andere Kabel habe ich ausprobiert. Alle behaupten sie 140 oder sogar 250 Watt zertifiziert zu sein. Und keines lieferte genug Strom um zu verhindern dass sich der Akku meines 60W Dell Notebooks trotz angeschlosser 100W Stromquelle im Betrieb immer weiter entlädt und schließlich sogar das Notebook ausgeht. Und so viele andere Kabel habe ich probiert, aber kein anderes hält über USB konstant die 3,5 GB/s beim kopieren auf eine externe NVME SSD. Ja - dieses Kabel ist teuer. Aber wenigstens hält es was es verspricht. Ohne dabei heiß zu werden oder auch nur ein bißchen in der Buchse zu wackeln. Ideal auch zum Betrieb an Dockingstations, wenn das mitgelieferte Kabel zu kurz ist. Thunderbolt 4 unterstützt laut Standard nämlich keine Verlängerung.

Già comprai in passato un cavo TB3 da Cable Matters. Che dire, un brand che si definisce da solo. Leggermente inferiore rispetto alla qualità di Belkin o OWC (per lo meno esteriormente) per cavi TB4. Però estremamente competitivi sul prezzo. Ho speso 70€ per 3m di cavo USB4. Usato per collegare notebook (Windows) con uscita TB3 a monitor ed anche per collegare periferiche PCI a MacStudio

I had searched high and low for the best cable for tethering from my camera to my Macbook Pro '23 on photoshoots. After being infuriated with Tether Tools and how unpredictable their cables constantly are - this one is the best cable I've ever used hands down. The transfer is extremely high speed, the cable isn't as stiff as Tether Tools which is a hugeee bonus for me because the flexibility allows for easier movement. The 5m has just never let me down in 1.5 years (by this point I'd have bought x2 TT cables). It's never disconnected, it's just always been consistent. I do wish it was a different colour just so people on set physically see it better, but using it for tethering is probably the least thing it gets used for. Either way - very pleased.
