Brilliant Value for Money
Mitre saw was all assembled pretty much. Minimum setting up. Allan key provided for tightening blade and guides. The instructions were clear on how to change the compound angles, lock the saw into the compressed position, use the slide mechanism etc.Good safety system in having to press both buttons, one releases the guard as the saw is pressed down and the other powers the saw.Very slight build up speed before saw is at max RPM which has the side benefit of reducing any 'kick.' if the saw is not fixed solidly to a bench.Plug lead could have been a little longer.Good wide guides, although don’t be an idiot like me and forget to fully retract the extension guides when doing an angle cut. Was about to cut a 45 degree skirting board cut when I lowered the saw and took a nip out of the guide. As I say, for angled cuts, the guides need fully expanded.Nice addition of laser guide, so you can accurately see where the blade will start to cut. Previous models, have to press down the saw to mark the point it will cut. Speeds up the cutting basically, with added accuracy once you have made sure it's set properly. Some of the cast iron parts look a little cheap and unfinished and some of the various plastic knobs for locking and adjusting again, feel quite cheap and flimsy. The benefit of having the compound angle in both directions is great. Same for the long sliding reach. Can be a time killer if doing multiple cuts of different angles though due to having to unlock the front pin to go either 45 degrees left or right and then you have to tighten it off at the back with a screw in handle.Saw collection bag isn’t worth much to be honest, but never is on any saws in my experience. And I've been through a few of these things. If you really want to cut down on the dust and cuttings then a decent workshop vacuum is essential.Only had the saw for a little while, cuts have all been true with a good finish. Minimal burring.Overall, great saw for the money. Probably the best value for compound angle and slide reach mitre saw. Other brands for this price, may only have one or the other. Downside for this price is some of the parts feel cheap and flimsy.

Good tool, light and efficient, and up to professional use.
I've been a professional Carpenter for 40 years, and recently needed to replace my old saw with a mobile cross cut saw with decent capacity but also for a reasonable budget, I was slightly reticent about the Evolution thinking it might be a bit shoddy, but read all the reviews which were largely positive, and went ahead and bought one.I couldn't be happier with it. Its copes with everything from large structural timbers, down to trimming small fiddly beading, is light enough to carry about and put in and out of the van, and is proving to be a very versatile tool.It has the advantage over other saws of having the versatility to cut other materials which in my case are plastic pipes, metal trim, and also the odd hidden nail or screw when cutting timber. The possibility of using it with a diamond blade to cut tiles and masonry may also prove useful in the future. Its nice and quiet which is important when working on domestic properties. The standard multi purpose blade leaves a nice clean cut with no splintering (I bought an additional 80 tooth blade for fine work but haven't actually needed it yet).I did originally worry that the slow speed might cause an issue, but not so.... It cuts as quickly, quietly, accurately and neatly as any other saw I have come across, most of which are twice the price.Very pleased with it indeed.

Though I have only used this to cut accurate angles on oak framing for a pointed top church board and the mouldings inside the framing, I have nothing but praise for it.This is a high quality product from a British Company - gives perfect precise cuts at all angles and through wood at up to around 12". Having the same blade able to cut wood, metal and plastic is fantastic. The Double Bevel is a feature well worth having, saving a lot of hassel. Fantastic value for money, well worth paying the extra for this top DB (double bevel) model, its still miles cheaper than its rivals of this quality. Superb machine - a pleasure to use. The fantastic Evolution Mitre Saw stand is also a 'must have'. It makes perfect precise cuts in longer material so easy and at the bargain price it is essential to complete the easy use of this saw. Highly recommended!

The saw was easy to setup after this
A call to the customer service was needed as the instruction for adjusting blade angle in the manual supplied were incorrect - a promise was made by technical support that they would remind marketing about the required change. The saw was easy to setup after this. Used to cut skirting boards with complex multiple angles. Easy to use and made good clean cuts with very little splintering. Dust bag is purely decorative and a well positioned vacuum cleaner nozzle was used instead. The DB facility proved very useful.

Fantastic saw! best I have ever owned and used, even over more expensive brands.
This saw is excellent! I have been using this for wood flooring, skirting board, dado rail for my house, but also box section for a car project. The multi purpose blade really does work well, and the biggest surprise is how accurate the laser guide works, (as past experiences with other makes has proven not to trust laser guides). The double bevel works wonders and saves time not having to flip the material you're cutting. There is no jolt with the start up of the saw like you get with cheaper saws, the blade spins up nice and progressively then cuts very smoothly, which I find gives better cutting accuracy, and is obviously better for the saws bearings and motor. The other big surprise I found was when it is running, it's quieter than other makes I have used in the past.I have used a lot of saws in the past, but this is the best saw I have ever used and owned. It's tempting to buy a cheap saw online or one from your local store, but it is much better to put the extra towards it and buy this saw. I have no doubt that this will last longer than others, cuts better, and overall just a much better product.
