BRILLIANT
We are in our 80,s and decided we needed a 2nd stair hand rail and this one certainly fitted the bill. It is a superb piece of kit ,the pine rails are beautifully planed and the chrome fittings are excellent quality. I first stained the pine to match the opposite rail gave it a coat of varnish and when dry It took me two hours to fit following the clear instructions and it looks brilliant. My wife and I can now approach the stairs with more confidence.

Good Value for Money
After reading previous reviews I decided to take the plunge and so glad I did. The Rail Kit came complete with all the brackets and screws needed, all I had to do was to supply some rawlplugs. For the size of screw, you need the brown colour plugs if drilling into a brick wall, ready available on Amazon or most DIY shops. Fitting the rail was not really a problem, once I read and understood the method. One tip for the end cap screws, drill a pilot hole using a 3mm drill bit and then wrap the chrome knob with gaffer tape. That way it is easy to screw in by hand and then remove the tape. All in all, a good value for money purchase.

Product is perfect - After Sales Leaves alot to be desired!
Our staircase turns through 9-0 degrees at the bottom so we were wanting a kit that would do the small section at the bottom ( after the turn ) and then the wall for the main staircase. After careful measuring and checking we bought this kit. Honestly it's great, it works perfectly. Had to sand it a little before varnishing but that's all. However, I phoned the company direct to enquire about buying a couple more wall brackets and 2 more end caps. The lady I spoke to was disgusting, she was down right rude and obstreperous. She even said she wasn't allowed by law to give me the name of the company they are supplied through ????? What! anyway we went to B&Q and bought he extras and the bannister rails are up and working great. Shame about the after sales.

Great quality but tricky to fit
This is great quality and looks really good when fitted but it is not simple (despite what other reviewers have written) to fit, and I fancy myself as an OK DIYer with a workshop full of tools. What I wanted is:The rail to be parallel with the existing bannister. The rail to be perfectly straight even though it comes in 3 x 1.2m pieces. The brackets to be evenly spaced. The overhangs from the end brackets to be correct. The instructions say measure up form the stairs and draw a line. Then fit all the brackets before fitting the rail. You need to be very sure of yourself to do it this to be sure the rail will be straight. I partially fitted the top and bottom bracket and then put the rail together using the other two brackets. However, the brackets are not wide enough to keep the rail straight and it puts pressure on the screws holding it together. It is likely you will have to shorten the rail as you will,be lucky if 3.6m is exactly what you need. If you need to shorten it, AND you want the brackets evenly spaced, you will need to put some thought into what length the three pieces need to be, remembering that the end brackets won’t be at the end of the rail but will be away from the rail ends (I chose 10 inches from the end to fit these brackets, which looks good). After cutting the three pieces to the correct length, I fitted the top bracket first, using just one screw so it could swivel. I then supported the whole rail using a length of 2x1 clamped down the length of all 3 pieces. I then fitted the bottom bracket, after checking that the angle of the rail exactly matched the angle of the bannisters (in my case, 45 degrees),Once this is done fitting the middle two brackets is straightforward. This may be overkill and is not the way the instructions say so don’t take my word for it if you think the instructions are better but my way resulted in a beautifully straight rail, exactly parrallel to the bannisters with the brackets evenly spaced. One review said they fitted it in one hour. If they did this and got a good result, I’d love to know how they did it. It took me an hour just to work out how much to shorten the pieces to allow the brackets to be spaced evenly.Good luck, it’s worth the effort

Great quality product
Superb quality product. The stainless steel rings and end pieces are great quality and look far more expensive. However, the assembly was not easy, contrary to other reviews. It took 3 of us to get the sections in a straight line to install. Had a great laugh in the process but once up, a fine quality product and looks far more expensive than it is.

Great unfinished banister
Really good looking and solid banister. The cheapest pine is very light in colour but looks good unfinished on a light wall but could easily be painted or stained. The fixings are superb and look fantastic. I would highly recommend.

Good product
Good quality indoor handrail, relatively easy to fit although ensuring that each section is completely straight relative to the adjacent section, to give an overall straight bannister, can be challenging if you have limited DIY skills!
