HP-EP Replacement Earpads for M-Series Headphones

Had my headphones since 2017 and have had to replace the ear pads twice. My first idea in 2020 was to go online (and I didn't see the official pads at the time) and buy some new ones. I ended up getting 3rd party ones that just flaked apart after a few months and dealt with them for about 3 years. They were disgusting. After finding the REAL replacements, holy hell -- it's night and day. The 3rd party ones were foamy and allowed sound leak. The real ones have restored the sound stage in its entirety. Details I got used to missing have come back. I've now had these replacements for at least a year, and nothing is flaking off, nothing is loose and nothing is bad! They are so easy to clean with some alcohol wipes when done using. Most importantly, they are FROM THE FACTORY. Very high quality material and very comfortable. AT knows what they're doing with headphones.

Leather on my earpads started to deteriorate and this was a convenient, inexpensive solution. I watched a quick youtube video on how to replace the earpads out of fear I might damage the headphones entirely had I done otherwise, and the process was fairly simple. These feel much better to wear than the previous worn out ones and work just as well.

I've had my Audio Technica 50X Headphones for 7 years...& the ear pads finally started to start falling apart. Not bad at all! Anyway, these replacement ear pads are excellent! Plus they're original equipment from Audio Technica. It was VERY important, that they would not negatively affect the sound in any way. After reading reviews on some generic brands, where people said they affected the great sound of these headphones, I went with Audio Technica. I'm glad I did, as they sound perfect...in fact, they seem to sound a little better now with the new cups, maybe because they have a better seal now...yet still comfortable. They were a little hard getting on; around 30 minutes for me, as I wanted it done right. But, overall...these are a great choice for replacement ear pads. Can't beat the quality of Audio Technica! Very happy!!

Perfect replacements for my ATH-M50x headphones that dried out and started to flake. It was easy to take off the old ones, clean the ear cup, and then install the new ones. They are the perfect size to fix the headphones, they bring back the original thickness of the headphone pads and they are very comfortable.

Other reviewers here have already mentioned that these are your best option for AT's popular and very good headphones. While look and feel are preserved, of primary importance is that the sound signature is preserved. Many of us have experienced a change in sound quality--not for the best--when installing other replacement pads. With several brands and models of headphones, I found that some are more susceptible to audio quality change with non-OEM replacement pads. One such model is Sony's MDR-V6. My ATH-M30x weren't nearly as sensitive by comparison. However, to me the M30x sound different from the ATH-M50x (and the MDR-V6), especially in the lower octaves. Possibly the M50x are more sensitive to certain pad variables, just like the MDR-V6. While you may also want to experiment, using OEM replacements is usually the safest bet. I did find, however, that these pads also fit my Sony MDR-V6 and perform very well. These are a little more tricky to install than others. None-the-less, I'd buy these again.

If you have a pair of ATH-M50x's you already know. The OEM muffs and headband are TRASH! Totally off topic, but Audio Technica should be sued or something. It's crazy that they have not revised their product, or at least offer a premium upgrade with better quality materials. Let's get the bad right out the way with these: They are made of THE SAME materials as the stock muffs your phones come with. That means these too will eventually crumble. I thought these were premium "upgraded" muffs, but no, they are the same as my stock muffs, except I could not find the camel color my originals were, so I had to settle for black. I bought these despite the eventual failure because they are OEM and preserve the awesome sound quality of the phones. I searched high and low online and read many reviews of other replacement muffs, and the complaint seemed to be the same from many people that went with other brands. Their sound quality suffered. These muffs are Audio Technica OEM muffs and even came in Audio Technica packaging. These are legit and match the engineering specs to retain the sound profile of your phones. I think that's a fair'ish trade. Again, shame on AT for not upping the quality, but it is what it is. I you are looking for muffs that won't distort your phones soundstage, get these.

Me resultan muy cómodos, un poco más blandos que los originales, me gusta, me aprietan menos las orejas, que ya los viejos se habían endurecido y me hacían daño. No soy capaz de decir si el sonido es diferente, no aprecio cambio. Muy fáciles de colocar. Modelo ATH-M30x

Se você também tem um m50x há muitos anos que a almofada já descascou totalmente, pode comprar sem dúvidas. Sinceramente, eu nem lembrava que esse fone isolava tanto o som assim, consequentemente os graves ficam muito mais cheios também. Pode ir sem medo, e claro, é o modelo de reposição oficial
