Cliff on top form!
This DVD presents the last night of Cliff's 70th birthday week of shows at The Royal Albert Hall in London, October 2010. As the box explains, this is a different kind of show from Cliff; a show featuring a swing band (the titular brass), a different take on old songs, and a host of songs he has never sung before. Fans have known for years that Cliff has been interested in doing something like this. Indeed, he tried out the formula in his 40th anniversary show (also at Royal Albert Hall) and others.I was at the show, and can attest that the show is accurately and completely represented by the DVD, from Cliff's surprise entrance, to the big finish. The DVD includes all 28 songs from the show. Cliff performs, for the first time in his career, an entire new album (Bold As Brass), including the tracks from the bonus CD. We also get a very nice behind-the-scenes extra, featuring Cliff, Michael Omartian, and various other key players (pardon the pun) involved in the production of the album and the show. The band is worth a mention, because it comprised some astonishing musicians, who were given various moments to "do their thing" during the show. Watch out for the trombone player. He really earned his money! The sound quality is great with Dolby Digital 5.1 selected. I didn't try the other option - Dolby Digital 2.0. The picture quality is the best I've ever seen on a Cliff DVD, or any other live show for that matter. I presume this is because the whole thing was recorded in high-definition for Blu-ray. The only thing I was not keen on was the editing. The slow numbers were cut together as snappily as the quick numbers. That is a minor quibble though, as the show was wonderful throughout. The DVD does not include a playlist, so here it is:Fly Me To The MoonSomewhere Over The RainbowDon't Forget To Catch MeDreamin'Twelfth Of NeverTheme For A DreamFools Rush InThe Time In BetweenAll My LoveDevil WomanMiss You NightsSwayGoldenThe Day I Met MarieI've Got You Under My SkinLove Me Or Leave MeLazy RiverEvery Time We Say GoodbyeThey Can't Take That Away From MeWhen I Take My Sugar To TeaLet's Fall In LoveI Didn't Know What Time It WasAccentuate The PositiveTeach Me TonightDon't Forget Around Much AnymoreNight And DayBewitched, Bothered And BewilderedWe Don't Talk Anymore

Double dare for Cliff
The first half of the concert is great, the second half is Cliff singing his latest CD and the sound is much better live so buy the DVD rather than the CD! The limited edition CD was not good.I do feel that the swing music showcases the Orchestre de Ville, no surprise that the band leader was instrumental in production of the CD! Cliff tried something new and it didn't come off, a couple of the songs are fine but there are just too many, one after the other, for a concert programme.Cliff should release his version of "Sway" from the first half as a single, he gives the Pussycat Dolls a run for their money! That was the highlight of the whole DVD.Usual behind the scenes extras. This is a DVD for the die hard Cliff fan, if you want a great Cliff concert then go for the DVD "Final Reunion" with the Shadows and Cliff's solo concert DVD released around 2008.

This is Brass all the way
I actually enjoyed this concert. Because it has all the tracks from the new Album (cd) "Bold as Brass" as well as many of the great Hits that made Cliff famous. I love the venue the Royal Albert hall. To think Cliff is 70 is amazing and his voice is as good as ever. This is a must for all Cliff fans. But also if you like Big band you will love this DVD..

I've paid much more for other artists that are not as good.
This certainly did meet my expectations. Several hours of non-stop entertainment from Cliffand his guests. A little more unusual, but the Brass Orchestra and his lovely voice matchedvery well. I always feel uplifted after Cliff's concerts, singing and dancing along if the moodtakes me. I've paid much more for other artists that are not as good.

Bolder than Brass
This is a good DVD. If you like Cliff buy it. A different slant on the older songs, which have come out really well and they sound good. Cliff looks very smart on this DVD and there is an amusing start to the concert.

A gift for my wife who is an avid Cliff ...
A gift for my wife who is an avid Cliff fan! She las masses of his DVDs and CDs but this was a welcome addition to her collection. The quality of the picture was superb and well worth the extra couple of quid for the Blu-ray version.
