This little travel kit has all the "traditional" maintenance & repair essentials. The kit does smell of cloves, so I do suspect that it might possibly leak, so I keep mine sitting with the bottle pointing up to minimize any loss. There hasn't been any oily mess to be found anywhere though, just the pleasant smell of clove oil.My kit is used as a prop display. Corrosion-X is the metal treatment I prefer to use for bare steel, but CLP or petroleum jelly will also work well. Petroleum jelly is a greasy mess, Corrosion-X stinks (but works best),..And CLP has a very distinctive odor that isn't entirely unpleasant, so don't be shocked if you find Marines using it as a dipping sauce, whenever CLP is left out in close proximity with crayons....It's like cookies and milk to them..But seriously, this would make an excellent addition to any katana gift package - along with a standard, simple, sword stand and a (carry strap) sword bag.

Came exactly as pictured. The powder ball was in a bag so as not to spill out in the box, the oil was closed tightly no leaking, everything fits back in the box rather easily, it's nice they included a few extra wooden pegs in case you need to replace and everything including the carrying box is sturdy and well made. Very pleased

Everything came with it except the mekugi pegs were missing in my package. Where should I go or do to get those shipped? I don’t want to return the whole thing since everything else was in there. Other than that, everything else was good.

The powder cleaned some of the rust off and the oil will help prevent more. Great value, quality and functionality.
