EMPO Professional Digital Kitchen Scale Food Scale with Tempered Glass, High Accuracy Electronic Cooking Scale with Large LCD Display and Tare Feature, Batteries Included

I've been using this for nearly 4 years and I love that it's so easy to clean and operate. The only downsides I have noticed is that the auto-off timer is relatively short so there have been times when I've measured something but I've obviously taken too long putting it into a bowl and the display goes off which is really frustrating. Also, for small amounts, it's not the most accurate. I tried to measure dried yeast once and ended up with a lot more than I needed.

This scale is very well-made, sturdy and looks great, too. The display is easy to read, the surface area is large enough for my pots & bowls - I meal prep, so I cook for 3 days in advance, but it might be too small for someone cooking for a larger number of people. I also have another, more precise scale for measuring small amounts, and I tested the two against each other - they showed the exact same values, rounded up to the whole gram in the case of this scale.The surface is smooth and easy to clean within seconds. The tare function works well. It's very easy to use, but must always be placed on a smooth, level surface (it often doesn't show this explicitly on the screen, so you have to be mindful of this yourself).It's not suitable for measuring small quantities, such as 2 grams of tea, or something to that effect - it usually doesn't register 1g changes on small total amounts. It would show e.g. 2g of tea, and then while I'd continuously add more and more leaf tea on top of that, to a value that would obviously be five times as much, it just showed 5g, or would not change the displayed value at all. This problem seems to disappear with items that are of a higher total mass, and for items that have a higher density (e.g. honey).For weighing smaller amounts such as tea & spices, I would recommend a more precise scale (one of those pocket ones).For meal prep, calorie & macro tracking, with food items measured in larger amounts, (i.e. 50g+), this scale is perfect.It's also convenient to store, as it's thin and fits anywhere, but be mindful that it might turn on automatically if the touch sensitive part is pressed against something.

This scale seemed to be working fine at first but started to understate the correct weights. I used standard weights, and the scale was under-recording by over 15-20%. You are promised a lifetime warranty with no questions asked. This is not the case. I first wrote to EMPO a week ago and received no reply until I complained to Amazon. I was then asked a bunch of patronizing questions which assumed I was an idiot and didn't know how to use an electronic scale. I'm now off to order another scale from a different company.

I bought this because I needed a 10Kg scale that was splash proof as I use it to measure water quite a lot.The fact that the top is all glass means the it shrugs of dust and water. Thing that were causing problems with my old scale.I have checked accuracy comparing it with a considerably more expensive scale and a decent salter scale and they all read pretty much the same.The display is also very good being large and bright. It does shut off after a minutes non use which can be annoying but is not an issue for the way I use it as I have another scale which doesn't shut off.So it's splash proof, dust proof , fairly accurate and a good price.

The good points are the big numbers and easy-to-read display, although the units characters (g, kg, Lb, oz, etc) are very tiny. But the range of weights up to 10kg is amazing. The touch buttons are much better than Salter scales, which are rubber and get muck in them, eventually stopping the keys working. Another improvement over Salter scales is that it gives minus amounts correctly when you spoon sugar, for example, out of a bag so you know how much you've taken. The worst thing is that it auto-shuts down a bit quickly so it switches off before you've got all the elements of a recipe weighed.

I was looking for a great kitchen scale for a while as I'm baking a lot and sometimes bake in batch. I got it for 1 month nowI like the fact that:-The scale is thin and light-I love the glass it’s so easy to clean-the scale is quite accurate-The batteries used are x2 AAA as I hated the flat batteries in my previous one so annoying to change- Mostly what I love is that I can bake for up to 10kg! My previous scale max. capacity was only 1kg.-I like the digital screen blue colour it’s easy to readI dislike the fact that:-At time I found it very sensitive as it would turn on with a slight touch on any part of the scale

I cannot see the difference between this scale ,purchased at under £10.00, to ones at sometimes three times the priceNice touch in that included in the box were the two AAA batteries necessary to get it workingAs the saying goes it does what it says on the tin in that it weighs what it put on itThe normal range of changeable measuring units ,simple two button set up , feels solidly built along with clear easy to understand instructionsHow accurate the measurements are is not known but it’s not something you will be weighing out gold

Pretty good device . The only negative is that I cant really place objects on it that have a large base because this covers the display. Not something I would deduct a star for though. Other than that it seems accurate enough for the kitchen use for which it is designed. . I would not use it to weigh out medicines or gold or chemicals etc but it is an attractive device with simple easy intuitive controls to change units of weight , reset to zero, add products etc.
