effective
works really well once you learn how to use it properly but is much more efficient than a normal corkscrew

First Rate !!
This is ideal for removing old corks that would ordinarily fall apart if using a corkscrew. The prongs are narrow and flexible allowing you to easily slide down both sides of the cork in order to remove it.

Should be more thin the metal parts
Should be more thin the metal parts, but it works and the cover fits, nice

Poor quality results in useless cork destroyer
Sadly this particular model, or at least the one I received, was not nearly as good as the one, a friend borrowed ... well it is a cork thief after all, so no surprise that it got nicked!!Anyway, this version was badly stamped/formed on the prongs with excess metal, which snagged on the corks, making it hard to slip them without pushing the cork in, or tearing the cork ... filled those off, careful not to damage the teflon coating on the main prongs, but the angle means they stick into more corks than they pull out ... and I'm in the wine trade, so use these a lot!Remedy, was to buy this version:[...]It works like a dream, and was out the box a better made item, with the angle of the prongs allowing a good slip inside the cork/bottle and has not failed to do the job. It's essential for old corks which have dried out or have become stuck to the glass. So Nill points for the Vacu-Vin version, buy the monopol instead, works a treat.

You need this when a cork crumbles
What do you do when your cork breaks and starts to crumble? Insert this puller on either side of the cork, wiggle and pull et voila. No more cork in your wine and then having to filter it, which normally occurs at inconvenient times. Another essential tool in the wine armamentarium.

Great for opening old bottles
Excellent if you have old bottles of wine with crumbly corks - it gets most fragile corks out, but can be defeated by really soft or cone shaped corks, but for the price it is a great backup for a regular corkscrew
