Magic in a tin
This stuff is amazing, just wish i had found a smaller pot. My kitchen ceiling paint was cracking and peeling down to the bare plaster. I scraped and sanded the areas. Applied a coat of this and then the next day i painted over the top. You cant see any ridges. Amazing product and easy to use.

It’s all in the preparation. Read the instructions carefully
This product is brilliant as long as it’s used correctly. I’ve used Zinsser products before but not this particular one. I had some stone window sills ( previously painted with masonry paint) to re-paint and they were pretty flaky and chipped. Having spent a day with a scraper removing all the loose paint I decided I needed to prime the surface before applying more masonry paint. I checked out Zinsser because their products are usually excellent and came across this. So having read all the instructions you do need to prepare the surfaces well before using. I’d already removed the flaky paint so I needed to sand with a rough sandpaper and wash them off with my chosen cleaner to remove all grease and dirt and any mould and moss needed treatment too. Please note this product does not work on surfaces that are damper than 14 %. You can check with a damp meter. So wherever you are using it you must deal with any damp issues first. If you don’t your top paint surface will bubble. On opening the tin the peel stop is the consistency of milk. It needs to be this thin so it creeps under any raised edges to stick them down and stop them peeling. It applies really well with a brush and has great adhesion as long as you’ve done the preparation. The coverage is fantastic…it goes a long way. It dries in two to four hours depending on the weather. I found it was dry in two as it was warm and sunny. You can get away with one coat but if your surfaces are bad you can apply two. You are left with a slightly shiny surface. I left the window sills overnight and then applied two coats of masonry paint. The results were excellent. I had no bubbling, no peeling and despite the sills being over 120 years old they look great. I’m definitely going to try this on my bathroom ceiling as that does have a tendency to peel. So in conclusion this is a great product that does what it says it will as long as you follow the instructions and don’t apply on surfaces that require damp treatment.

So far so good
The media could not be loaded. I bought this to help revive some old garage doors. The pale green colour doors (see photos) was before. Dark patches had started to show through, paint was worn and peeling all over, they looked shabby and tired. Although I quite like the rustic look, this was a bit too far! And they were only getting worse. So, on a dry sunny day I roughly sanded everything back, removed as much flakey paint as possible and then gave 2 coats of this. I was happy with the application, it was easy to use, dried quickly in the sunshine and was ready to recoat within a couple of hours. The paint is a little thin and runny which is why I did two coats, I felt more confident I’d got the coverage needed. The paint edges seem to have sealed and it’s given a great base coat. Since then we’ve had non stop rain (typical!), but my plan is to wait for a free, dry day and then repaint with the original green top colour. First coats of this stuff have held up well in the horrendous wet weather! Fingers crossed and hoping it’s a good fix to help the old garage doors last a little longer.

Great for peeling paint.
I redecorated my bathroom and all was going well until the paint by the window started peeling. I left it to dry, sanded it and tried again. Same thing happened. One coat of this and the problem has completely resolved. Highly recommend. Quick drying time too!

Worked ok
Bought to help repair a bathroom ceiling that was peeling in some areas. After removing the all of the loose pieces I applied peel stop as directed and filled the edges. When started to roller the ceiling areas of paint started peel off so ended up having to remove the rest of the paint from ceiling including the areas where I applied the peel stop. The areas where I had applied the peel stop did take some time to remove so the product clearly does work but I think paint thickness probably does play a part. This is why I rated this product a 3 as I read extensively on this product before buying and paint thickness was not mentioned anywhere.

Seems to do what it's supposed to do
Seems to do what it's supposed to do. Covers well, perhaps more thin and runny than I expected it to be (I'm using paint which is much thicker than this) so need to be more aware of drips.
