Refreshed memories of home
Great reminder of how harsh an environment Scotland can be ( to eek out a living in )

One of the best tourist presentations to come out of Scotland.
I find myself intrigued by Murton's efforts to place Scotland highly on a scale of World Tours. And I think he actually does a great job of doing so. While some may criticise his Glasgow/Edinburgh Kelvinside/Morningside accents and sneer at what they see as his affected and over-the-top presentations, I think them charming. Watching these series again on DVD, I find myself totally engrossed and once more fascinated, and greatly entertained, by his very natural, friendly descriptions, interviews, and acutely accurate portrayals of our very beautiful landscapes and hospitable people. Any intending visitor, or sincere resident, should find great pleasure and delight viewing these excellent series. Whether it's for the first time,or as a pleasant repeat.

Scotland at its best
Scotland scores 5 points. This series reminds me of why I have fallen in love with Scotland ever since I set foot on its ground. Hope to be back as soon as pandemic will be permitting. But although subtitles have been announced in the dvd's description there are none. Which is really disappointing for the hearing impaired. Thus, I have missed much of the things some of the older people have told. As I am interested not only in Scotland's landscape but also its history I am rather disappointed. So, there is a deduction of 1 point.

Great Box Set. Recommend.
Fantastic box set taking you on tours of the less accessible parts of Scotland. Definitely recommended. Some particularly hilarious narration by Paul Murton. Rather than get voice actors, he did it all himself and the effect is laugh out loud funny! I suspect this wasn't his intention...Anyway, I hope Paul continues to do many more of these. Worth noting there is now an eighth season if you like complete sets.

Grand Tour
Great set of series. Insights into the history of tourism, the social history of, especially, the Highlands and Islands looking at the Clearances.I'd have liked more exploration of Gaeiic culture and language and it's history and future. Still, here's hoping there will be future series.Excellent stuff Paul.

A lovely, informative guide to beautiful Scotland and its islands
Really enjoy watching this series of informative DVDs about Scotland, focusing mainly on the history behind this beautiful country. I particularly enjoy his tours of the Scottish islands.
