Four stars as just starting using it and so far, so good. Covers the larger area I need for big pots and largest gas range port. It is MUCH thinner and lighter weight than my smaller and older one, so only regular use and time will tell how well it holds up. HOWEVER, if there are any concerns at all, the directions for care, etc. are ZERO help as 99.9% in Chinese

It is exactly what the description says it is. It's a round piece of metal that absorbs heat and spreads it around so that you don't have hot spots. Woohoo!

My cheap tin round with perforations does a much better job reducing and diffusing the heat. This really is good catching spills and now that is what I use it for so not to mess up a gas stove.

These heat diffusers are very good with for keeping an even heat especially for braising and simmering meat dishes. Very happy with the product.
