For £9.99 I cannot believe the quality of this padlock. It's been purchased for shed/man cave as the other locks I've used rusted quickly even though I'd covered them with a modified old plastic bottle.Judging by reviews this should hopefully last much longer.

I liked it immediately. It is a heavy, sturdy padlock that is perfect for locking a gate that leads from the road to a field on our property. There had been evidence of trespass so I needed a solid, weatherproof padlock with a set of keys to control entry and the Master Lock had favourable reviews and was sensibly priced.I took note of a few comments referring to surface corrosion appearing after some time so, as I live in a coastal area, I smothered the padlock with grease both internally and externally to provide a measure of extra protection. So far so good but only time will tell whether or not the product is durable. Currently, there is not the slightest hint of rust or corrosion and the key easily opens the lock.If, after time, I find the padlock does not satisfy my requirements I will revise my review but, at the moment, it’s getting five stars from me.PLEASE NOTE: This review is for the key operated padlock NOT the combination padlock that seems to get most of the negative reviews. Right, where do I start with this review? The easy part was deciding on the type and size of outdoor padlock we required to secure a wrought iron gate down the side of our house. The hard part was choosing which one to buy with my hard-earned cash. As I’ve done before, I spent far too much time checking out the numerous ones available on Amazon. Many buyers had mixed reactions to the differing brands/models they had purchased, including negative remarks regarding: poor longevity, prone to rust, only available with two keys, inferior build quality, stiff to lock/unlock etc.Weighing up all the pros and cons of those available, the Master Lock brand seemed to stand head and shoulders above the rest, hence my reason for purchasing this Heavy Duty one with a classic shackle. I was also impressed that it comes with four keys (one for me, one for the wife, one for our next-door neighbour and one as a 'hidden' spare). It arrived through my letterbox within 3 days of me placing the order, was securely held in place by original Master Lock packaging and then further protected by a sturdy cardboard box.So far, I'm very happy with this padlock. It's certainly 'fit for purpose,' it's solidly built, opens and locks like a charm and will hopefully last me many years.Incidentally, it's worth noting that this is also a 'highly-rated' lock on the Argos website - their price is presently £14.00. In contrast, I bought this on Amazon (via CC Leicester) for £8.88, which included FREE delivery. Highly recommended.

I have always bought this brand of padlocks and never been disappointed. Expect a trouble free long lasting padlock that’s resistant to rust if kept well oiled.

A very good padlock. No key required to lock it. Using outdoor in wet conditions for many months now, works perfectly.

Good luck to anyone with a hacksaw. This is one tough padlock
