A key piece was missing.
A piece of rail was missing. A real let-down for my grandson at Christmas. Their offices were closed for the holidays through Jan 4th compounding the disappointment of not being able to complete assembly.

Works just as one would hope, substantial and well designed.
I bought this for my grandson who is a wiz with Legos, but upon receiving it, considering 500 plus pieces, and taking note of how physically light the package was, I wondered. Oh but just this last weekend we saw his model which he completed unassisted(age, 10) and it not only worked perfectly, it was exciting to watch. As for the 'lightness', it was quite substantial and he said he could move it assembled. A big 'thumbs up', absolutely satisfied.

Fun but hard to keep working
Son really enjoyed it, needed some help to put it together, but it's very tricky to get it to stay together. Lasted a week before it needed to be put back together (pieces get tweaked, moved, and it doesn't work as well. Now I think some of the pieces have been lost, the "chain" has come off, and it's basically useless. It was fun while it lasted, and a good experience to put together learning how to follow directions for him.

Christmas gift
He liked it when he opened it. He has not built it yet. For my 11 year old grandson.

Poor quality
I was very excited to share this with my kid for his birthday as I had countless hours of fun as a child with knex. The packaging is fine and the structure/design of the coaster is neat, but the quality is so very poor. The pieces feel cheap now and don't have nearly the same ridgidness as I remember. The parts do not always snap well together especially the tan pieces that connect to the track. Between floppy pieces and loose connections there is so much kinetic energy transferred to the structure that the car won't make it around by itself. They have engineered it so that under perfect circumstances it will barely make it around then supply the kit with cheap parts and loose connecting points making for a disappointing build. This present was for my oldest and I have 4 kids total. I am pretty sad that I'll never buy knex again and even more disappointed that my kids won't get to experience what great products the company used to offer.

Very well engineered
Put this together with 7 year old son. He was able to start doing it by himself once he got the idea of how the pieces fit together and how the instructions were a bit more challenging than his usual legos.Pretty awesome once it is together.

My son loves it!
The media could not be loaded. Exactly what I expected from KNEX, picture directions, lots of pieces, and everything works right. I read reviews stating the car wouldnt go on the track or would stop, I experienced none of that, had no issues getting the track to line up, no issues with the car stopping mid track or not making it back to the chain. Most importantly, my son LOVES IT

A few small cheap pieces ruined the experience...but we recovered...
So, my 11 year old daughter started this at noon on a Saturday and had the basic structure (minus the track) put together by 3:00. I was impressed by both her ability/persistence to do it and the level of instruction provided so that she could. We stepped back and were really impressed with the build. The trouble started when she began building the track. The connectors were so weak that they couldn't secure the track to the structure. She began getting frustrated so I helped her with the track and I began getting frustrated. The connectors are literally the smallest pieces and really with a few engineering changes could securely hold the track. It is actually pathetic how poorly they are designed given the rest of the structure. With a lot of difficulty, we finally got the track put together but it was clear that it was not going to hold tight to the rest of the structure. We ran the coaster without the belt and it ran the track without a hitch, but again, the track was on the brink of disconnecting (at certain parts) from the base. We then excitedly put together the chain mechanism and turned on the motor. The track almost immediately (not surprisingly) began to collapse and crash in on itself. This was after 4.5 hours of my daughter being patient and excited about running the coaster to see the fruits of her efforts. After watching it collapse and trying to fix it for the next 20 mins we abandoned the effort.Lesson to my daughter (who I am wanting to get excited about STEM) - spending 5 hours on a mechanical project is a waste of time, because in the end, you don't actually get to see your successes. Nice job K'NEX.While most of the build was great, the end result and the frustration make this a clear one star.Edit...so we ended up hot gluing parts of the track to connectors...while not optimal it worked and then we were sort of impressed...still not a five star but I'll give it a solid 3.

Does not work. Very disappointed
The media could not be loaded. I was really excited about this product when this arrived. It had all the complete parts and I was able to construct it. But to my disappointment, the car does not complete the full loop. I have rebuilt it twice done everything to fix this problem but in vain. It’s very expensive and was a complete waste of money
