Not intuitive. Very slow.
Using this as storage for a camera system. Takes HOURS to delete one day of recordings. Already in production system. Will not buy a second one Well the above review caught the attention of the Buffalo support team. They actively engaged me to investigate the issue. We have made configuration changes and are testing to see if the problem has been resolved…more to come. Last update. the Buffalo support team has been great. Constant follow up and problem resolution. Deleting files now is almost as fast as a PC drive. The problem was a conflict with the Camera System trying to control deletions and the NAS wanting to archive all deleted files. We turned that feature off on the NAS and now everything is working as it should. Even though we had problems to start I am going to change my rating to a 5 because of my unfamiliarity with the NAS and the unbelievable tech support.

Awesome and EASY setup... excellent piece of hardware/software!
this is the easiet network infrastructure piece I've even implemented... I've done IT for 30 years.

Bad drives / very poor transfer speeds
After setting up this device I was having issues with transfer speed. after investigating I looked at the smart status of the hard drives and found multiple errors on all 4 drives as well as many hours of use that I know I did not use as I have not even owned the product for that many hours. I believe this is causing my 12 Kb/s transfer speeds as I am using a 1Gig ethernet connection though I have also read of others having issues with transfer speeds on these devices now that I did some additional research. Besides the harddrives being in very poor condition the management and setup is good. If you buy this I suggest buying the lower priced model and replacing the hard drives with better ones. I feel like I wasted some money with this product due to the transfer speed and hard drive condition
