Suma Aduki Beans 3 kg (Pack of 1)

Our local Tesco store, for whatever reason, has stopped stocking dried Adzuki beans, black turtle beans and a few others. This means I've had to resort to online ordering for some of the dried beans I buy.I seen a few reviews of these that hinted that maybe they weren't the best for cooking with. I ordered them anyway and decided to make my fav Adzuki bean recipe - Adzuki Bean Shepherds Pie - and I can confirm that the beans were absolutely fine. They cooked wonderfully and had that lovely taste that the beans are known for.Recommended.

I'm chinese so I do tend to cook aduki beans very often, and these are good aduki beans. To make aduki bean soup (as a dessert) you simply boil the aduki bean with water for a couple of hours until the water becomes thick and deep red in colour (obviously don't ever let all the water vapourize, add more when you see fit) Add some cane sugar and there you have it, tasty aduki bean soup for dessert! (can be served hot or chilled)

I bought Suma Aduki Beans to make sweet aduki bean paste. I found this product does not cook like all other aduki beans I cooked before (and I cook aduki beans a lot). The cooked beans were a kind of slimy and the skin stayed hard. The beans are much larger than normal aduki beans too. I expected better quality from a Suma product. I will not buy this product any more.

What can you say about beans. ? Lovely with onions, mushrooms, carrot and tomato. That's my favourite way to eat them.

Delivered promptly in tough poly bag. Doesn't seem to be any damaged or split beans. So all good as far as I can see. Will be ordering these again. Thank you.
