Ok..it's ok.
Well built but really wish dust extraction ports were standardised. Quite powerful suction but not as much as I had hoped for with a dedicated unit. I run it through a vortex collector for my router table and Bandsaw and its ok. Good filtration though. Value for money methinks.

Cheap and Effective
This is cheap and actually very effective. Hose that comes with the unit isn't long enough for a lot of things but you can get an extension kit for a few quid that gives you 5m of reach. You'll need that if you want to attach this to a power tool. When running it's a bit noisy but not too bad. I'm planning on putting it in a cupboard so that'll help. The unit does get hot on the top in use but that's fairly normal. It does make me wonder about long term use though. I'm using it intermittently for maybe 2-3 mins at a time probably 6 or 7 times over the course of an hour and it's completely fine for that. It can be used as a vacuum cleaner but again you'll need a separately bought extension hose. Unit is easy to empty and use and it's certainly powerful enough for the home user. I've been pleasantly impressed.

Impressive - but you may need to buy some extra flexible hose.
This is an impressive machine. There are no dust collection bags to worry about as the dust is vented directly into the metal canister which can be emptied. It does come with some bags to put round the filter inside the housing but these only need changing infrequently. The only surprise to me was that it comes with a whopping 4-inch (100mm) hose and a reducing kit. My deWalt and Makita equipment have 1-inch outlets. When you add all the reducing sections to bring the 4-in down to 1-in, it gets pretty unwieldy and in the case of the mitre saw, impractical. The solution is to extend the pipe using 1-in flexible pipe. This works fine but it would have been very useful if some of this had been included in the reducing kit. That is the only downside.

Brilliant heavy duty workshop vacuum.
I have been using a basic wet/dry vacuum in my workshop but with my table saw and thicknesser was having trouble with clogging. Now I have connected the Scheppach there are no such problems. Extremely good suction even with quite large wood shavings. It is quite noisy but with ear defenders it is fine. Nice large collection drum and no need for bags. Good clips for hose connection too. Very pleased indeed.

I think this is a good dust extractor with good capacity
I think this is a good dust extractor with good capacity. I use it to clear the dust fromwood turning. It is a bit noisy because of the use of a high speed motor mounted in the topof the unit but works very well.

Never usually review
I never write reviews and I own 3 businesses that are all supplied 75% by amazon. This wasn't a cheap product nor was it expensive. Like all of this brands products they are mid market. I expected mid market quality. The suction is amazing, let's not miss that fundamental point. The problem is the ducting hose. I bought a 3m additional hose with the intention of not stressing the main inlet pipe on this vaccume.Despite this after 2 weeks of mild use in a small work shop the hose has ripped that many times iv given up repairing it. My shop is clean with laminate flooring so there's no reason for this other than cheap materials. The mentioned extension hose is still immaculate and no holes or repairs needed. In addition the vaccune is incredibly noisy and after only 5 to 10 minutes of use because warm. These issues woukd of been accepted had the hose not been such poor quality. The strong hoses on amazon are expensive and this is why this product can sit mid market. My advice? Buy it if you can ensure your vaccune won't need to move around and can be static for its use. This review wouldn't have bee written had they made a replacement hose available to buy.As always, I wish I'd paid more.

DIYer review
I have a small workshop in my basement and dust was a real problem. I tried to manage the dust with a dust cyclone attached to a shop vac. This worked ok but dust was still escaping and in such a confined space made it useless basically. I decided to take the plunge and pay for something dedicated to the task. I'm really pleased with it, it took minutes to set up, the bin is a great size so won't need emptying frequently. More importantly when this is hooked up to my table saw or router it manages the dust extremely well. Have had it several weeks and it's been great. The hose is large and you get some extra attachments with it. I also ordered another mixed set of attachments just to ensure I could attach to any of my tools.

Unit is good and cheap, but...
...you will probably struggle to buy replacement dust bags. If you search for 'scheppach ha1000 dust bags' in Amazon, Google, Screwfix, wherever, you will see nothing useful as a result. That makes it a 2 star rating rather than a 3 or 4 star rating from me.
