Good timer. The beep/alarm sound is very loud and clear. Very useful when you switch on the hob, as it reminds you to turn it off or to time your recipe. The physical, clicky buttons are useful as well. I believe the loudness is set to level 1 (out of 3), and it is already very loud.

Brilliant little timer! I bought one of these for my elderly mother who is deaf and she can hear it at the loudest volume even when she's in another room. I ordered this one for myself and just the lowest volume is fine for me, haven't needed anything louder yet. Maybe if I was out in the garden or upstairs I might use it. So easy to use with a very clear display.

Salter usually a well made product, which it is. It has a separate hour facility, which makes it simpler to use rather than having to press the minute button up to an hour. My one complaint is the alarm sound it makes when timer goes off. It is far too much like a fire alarm. Really unsuitable. If I hadn’t opened and tried it I would have returned. Please Salter reconsider the sound. One star removed due to this.

Small but sturdy. Easy to use. Magnetic timer lives on my fridge/freezer door. Loud alarm with easy instructions to use. Big numbers so easy to see at a glance. Counts down hours, minutes, seconds with light behind the figures.

UPDATE 26th August: Over the months all of the timers we bought have started to experience issues, which has left them all unrealiable and tonight timer started counting up, not down, so thankfully I realised it was doing it, before his food got over cooked. At his point we have paid a lot of money for these and with all them going, it’s not a one off, there must be an issue with a whole batch. Due to all of them now unreliable we have to update our rating to reflect all the issues. 1 star is all we can award, as we also now have to find alternative timers, which we were really hoping not to do. Wouldn’t recommend these to anyone. Purchased three of these altogether and wife isn't disappointed. They are exceptionally easy to use and very well made. Be aware, the alarm is very loud. Made us jump first time it went off, so turned down to lowest setting, which is still loud. Sounds a little like a fire alarm. Makes you get up quick to turn it off and it can be heard easily left on the fridge, when your in another room, with door closed. Recommend if you want a simple designed alarm which is easy to use and week built and sturdy.

Pros: - Easy to setup/use. Timer and countdown function. - Three loudness settings Cons: - Alarm v high pitched/piercing in terms of tone. This makes easy to hear but such a nasty sound I end up trying to turn off just before timer ends to avoid hearing it! - Gaps between buttons. Not great in terms of hygiene/cleanability. - Angle. Find screen hard to see as either sits at right angle to worksurface or directly sitting up. A 45 degree angle like the Heston model would be better. - Unit can't be turned off so screen constantly on/draining battery. I was between this and the Salter Heston model, both some mixed reviews but not sure I would purchase this again

Good medium- small size and it is magnetic making it easier to attach to your kitchen fridge to assist you when cooking. Set up is simple and straight forward and is easy to use even to those who have never used a timer before. Alarm ring is loud enough for you to hear even when you are not in the kitchen, making it ideal to have for people who are hard of hearing. Battery life last for a long time and buttons and digital numbers are large and clear enough for use to see and read and appearance is great as well.

Doet zijn werk en het maakt een luid geluid, voldoende om boven het kookgeluid te komen. De duurzaamheid moet nog blijken want we hebben het nog maar enkele weken.

This one is just fine. I may get another one. I use it for timing cooking. Thank you.

By day, the magnet holds it securely on the fridge. And when the sun comes out, it is perfect for BBQ time in the garden. Large easy to read display. Selectable alarm loudness. Simple to use. Was a little worried that the display is always on but as it is LCD, battery drain is not an issue. Now it it is finding new uses as timer for when my daughter is taking a “break” from school homework. Glad that I purchased this...my daughter, less so :o)

My last timer stopped sometimes for no reason when timing an event this one hasn't ever.
