InterpetInterpet Insight Auto Timer

I've had this a month now, I bought it for a Pets at Home LoveFish Panorama 64l tank as it is the same as the interpet one.I'm leaving a review because I feel it has been unfairly reviewed here. It is not fiddly to fit, you undo 1 screw, unplug a cable, then plug the unit in and do the screw up it's that simple. Granted the instructions are incorrect about which cable you undo but anyone with half a brain can figure that out as you cable see where the cables all go.Yes it is basic, but it's £8! What do you expect. It is a neat simple cheap solution. Once fitted you can't see it and all you have to do is turn it on, 10 hours later the light goes off. If you want more pay more.Edit:- 5 months later it still works fine. Was a bit nervous about buying this as alot of reviews online state how bad it is and stops working days after. Well I have had this in nearly a month now and works as it is supposed to. Alot of people also saying they think condensation damaging item. Well on my tank (which it is designed for) I place the cover seal back on top of this item, that has so far stopped any water entry and damage. Fingers crossed.

The Interpet Interpet Insight Auto Timer, lets call it the IIIAT for short, is the perfect accessory for the Interpet Insight Glass Aquarium Fish Tank Premium Kit - 64 Litre Installing the IIIAT is a simple process, that involves unscrewing a plastic service cover in the lid of the aquarium, plugging in a few wires and screwing everything back together again.There is no complex programming setup or advanced button presses, in fact there are no buttons at all. Once you power up the unit it starts counting (10 hours on and 14 hours off). The IIIAT only controls the white LED light, so the blue one can be controlled independently.Since installing the IIIAT a few weeks ago it has worked flawlessly, and my worries on not being able to set a manually timed program have faded away. I think Interpet have done a great job at making my life a little bit easier with this 'install and forget device'.

The media could not be loaded. Simple to install and use, however, mine failed after 17 months.Upon inspection, I discovered there is no seal around the power input receptacle, as shown in the video/photo, there is some corrosion on the back of the power input, probably due to water ingress via condensation. I did have the cover, that comes with the aquarium, installed over the timer the whole time too.

It’s better than nothing, but you can’t control how long it comes on for or when it when it goes off.Whenever you switch it on, it’s on for 10 hours then automatically switches off, so if you have a power cut, it messes with then time it comes on and off. Awkward when you work as you can’t get it to run on your preferred times until the weekend.

A simple effective device easily installed with minimal effort, 1 cross head screwdriver and about 10 mins work even for someone with no idea, the location to fit was ready to go lugs to attach it to alligned to the two holes you can see on the picture, can be mounted vertically pointing up or down, if you connect the leads first then fit the part to the cover it has an obvious way round, having installed you simply wait until AM to switch the light on and this activates the 10 hour timer, if you want to reset it or turn it off etc, you simply switch off the light as you would normally do, no longer will you have to monitor over or under exposure or inconstant times of the day, stress free fish are happy healthy fish.

I use it for my Insight 40l tank. It works as described. But dont expect to be able to modify the number of hours. You are stuck with 10hours ON and 14hours OFF. And it starts from the moment you switch the light on. From then on it counts 10hours and switches off for 14hours. When I go to clean the tank and turn the power off and switch it back on, it then starts the clock all over again which is annoying.
