well made old fashioned wood clapper
I use this to get professional looking seams in my sewing. It has a pointed end to push out collar points when you are pressing with steam. The wood works to cool the steam and make a fine flat seam.

Every dressmaker's dream
This tool is crafted with love and precision. It is every dressmaker's dream. Heavy enough to be used as a clapper from one side and narrow enough to open/press the seam allowance flat or on the edge. Smooth and sturdy, and hey, it made here, in America! Real, old-fashion American quality! Worthy of every penny, long lasting tool.

Easy to make professional seams
The best for pressing shirt collars, shoulder seams, cuffs. Smaller parts of areas that demand a professional detailing. Very useful and easy to use. Cost effective for end results of finished garments. I will continue to use as my mother had one now I have one.

Made in Indiana.
I liked that it was well made and easy to use in pressing seams open and getting to the points on collars. Also I liked that it was made in the USA, in fact, in Indiana.

Beautifully made
Very well made point presser. I've been using a smaller one (a vintage June Tailor), and this one was much larger than I expected. The length of the point pressing surface is about 16" so pressing collars seams for smaller sized (kids) clothing will require flipping the collar. I wold have preferred a slightly shorter and smaller tool. I feel that the whole thing is larger than necessary. But the craftsmanship is excellent. I bought it to give to someone else, and debated keeping it and giving them mine, but in the end I couldn't get past the size of it.

Tailors point clapper
Beautiful woodwork. There was a slight rough spot on one edge, but one swipe with fine grain sand paper, and it was smooth again. It is made from a gorgeous hardwood, and I expect it will last a long time. I had previously purchased this for my sewing classroom, but now I have my own!

This point presser seam clapper is much more substantial than the ones I’ve seen in the local fabric store. It is made of heavy solid oak that should last for the rest of my tailoring years and beyond. My only small issue is that it has a few rough edges, but a light sanding should fix that.
