Great Watch, packs a lot in & easy to use!
I bought this watch a few months ago, after a lot of deliberation about whether to get one with a separate HRM, but I am so glad I bought this one!I have a very small wrist but the watch fits well and the HRM works really well, it's more comfortable than I expected. The method of securing the 'tail' of the watch strap is fab, and has never come undone on it's own. I have mostly used it for cycling so far, but will be using it for running over the winter. It tracks really well, finds location really quickly at the start of a session, and has never 'not found me' so far (although I don't really live in the middle of nowhere, so it shouldn't be a challenge!)The intervals section for training is great, I always look for this on any sports watch.I love the recovery function, when you stop you pause the watch and it measures your recovery ability, rating it no recovery, poor, fair, good or excellent (I have forgotten to restart it a few times, which is really annoying, but a lesson learned)It is exceptionally easy to use, and I can easily scroll between HR, distance, speed etc as I'm going along, and even easier to use the online tomtom my sports app, which starts automatically when you plug the watch in. My only gripe, and it may just be I haven't worked out how to do it yet, is that being British I want to see how many miles, (and speed in mph), not km or kph, I'm sure I could work it out, but it'd be nicer to see it on screen & have the option.I haven't used it for swimming yet, so can't say anything about this function.Overall a superb watch, easy to use, practical, and much less hassle than having a separate HRM. I can highly recommend it!

Good all rounder
Only just got back into running but wanted a simple to use GPS watch. I really wanted the ability to track heart rate but I've always found a chest strap a bit fiddly and uncomfortable. This has the perfect solution with the built in sensor on the back of the watch. It picks up a GPS signal quickly (typically less than 10 seconds for me) as long as it's updated regularly. It can be linked to the TomTom sports app ( I use the iPad version) and this is also linked to (or run by) MapMyRun.The GPS data seems very accurate (as you may expect) and the heart rate data also seems very reliable (although can't be used during a swim).Overall for a watch with good functionality that is straightforward to use this seems to tick all the boxes.

This is a good piece of kit BUT the MySports website is a big let down. I managed to set up an account on Mysports and luckily I set up my computer to link my watch with my Strava account also. Since then I can not login to my Mysports account despite changing my password numerous times! Luckily every time that I plug in my watch all of my activities are updated to my Strava account which for me is fine, but not being able to link with the Mysports website does limit some of the watch's features such as the race feature. But as a GPS and heart rate monitor the equipment is fine, the GPS signal is picked up very quickly and has traced me accurately through woody runs. The heart rate monitor is very reliable as long as the watch is strapped securely. For swimming the lap counter is accurate which I was doubtful about as I am a beginner swimmer who stops and starts very frequently.

A really nice watch with features unlikely to dissapoint
Overall a very nice watch. It looks good and functions adequately as a watch when not running. The buttons and menu are pretty well thought out which is a good job as there is no manual worth a mention. Satellite based location fix is quick - 3 or 4 seconds usually - though I believe you need to connect it to you PC (or iPhone) quite often to update the satellite quick fix data; this happens automatically when you download you workout onto the MySports application so it is not a problem if you do this anyway. If you want to compare it to a Garmin, which IMHO is the market leader in the UK, then it stands up really well.On the negative side it only records laps if you have specifically said you are going to do lap training, otherwise you cannot record laps either manually or automatically. I guess the reasoning is that you determine the type of run you intend to do and that's all you need. It is not a major problem. It also will not do routes, having no form of map display. I have to say I used this less often on my Garmin anyway but it will prevent this becoming my only running watch. On the positive side, the optical heart rate monitor is great and I love not needing a chest strap. The wide strap allows the watch to be tightened sufficiently to be snug, as required, without feeling too tight. It has brought a new dimension to my running having this information so easily available. The large display is easy to read and the top left and right smaller displays can be tailored to display your preferred information (e.g. total distance and time). It is a little tedious scrolling the large display through all of the possible information items, especially when running, but at least you can. There is an accelerometer that allows it to give a stride count (though no graphs of stride data in the MySports application) and the accelerometer also allows it to be used usefully when swimming but I have not tried this yet.The web based MySports application is good and there is an iPhone app which is almost identical. The watch will load via the iPhone using Bluetooth which is very handy if you want to view your run away from home. I ran to the station and was able to review the run as soon as I had sat down on the train. So why doesn't it get 5 stars? After a software update - which it does automatically whenever it is connected to your PC - it stopped working. It froze until the battery flattened twice in succession. The TomTom forums advised a factory reset which gave the appearance of taking all night but in the morning after disconnecting (despite the do not disconnect still being displayed) it seems to be working properly again. This should not happen to an expensive piece of consumer equipment.

Swiss Army style functionality
TomTom Multisport Cardio Til perfection arrives this will do.Incredible HR function.Being able to break out and track each activity is terrific. Running, Cycling ,Swimming and a 'Freestyle' category ,each creates maps, history, and totals. The ability to add a cadence sensor to the bike mode is nice , but for my purposes, I simply enjoy having most all conceivable functions on one device. It's important to note that all the basic features of a good sports watch are present, uncluttered by the watch's other attributes. To access the various functions, you simply 'joystick' your way around the menu using that 4-way pod facing you.Yes you can do realtime virtual competitions with your previous time, and read laps, splits, and pace as you go.Beyond that, the HR monitor is as reliable as any we've owned, and that, without the hassle of a chest strap. The satellite acquisition is fast compared to other devices my wife and I have tried, It also 'remembers' where to look if it wakes up in the same neighborhood where it was used last. The maps, data fields, and profiles it produces are pretty are graphic interactive and shareable. It syncs up nicely with our LG Androids ,updates off the website are easy to acquire, and those actually streamline and add function.Battery life is great. On a 4 hour ski trip, running HR and GPS the whole time, the battery still showed 2/3 full upon completion. On the numbers ,maps and charts, you can pinpoint by rolling over graphs which yields conditions at one specific moment. Seperate activities come out as monthlly, yearly and lifetime totals as well.Having owned other GPS watches this is a better mousetrap that's much more fun and intuitive to operate.

A good all-round exercise watch.
Works exactly as advertised, and setup was simple.I experienced none of the pulse sensor problems that others have reported, and for my purposes GPS accuracy is as good as I need. Looking at routes on the map on the TomTom MySports website at top magnification, one can see places where I was running along the left side of a road facing traffic, and veered onto the shoulder (perhaps 2 feet) because of oncoming cars.I also used a Garmin Oregon GPS in parallel with it, and over a 12+ km route, the TomTom read slightly over 1% less than the Garmin. As I was traversing a closed loop counterclockwise, with the watch on my left wrist, and the Garmin hanging on my right hip, some fraction of that difference can be attributed to the fact that the Garmin would have traveled slightly further than the TomTom.Battery life is adequate for my purposes, although I can see 8 hours being a problem for some. For my purposes the website is adequate, giving me all the information that I need. Yes, it does take a few seconds for all but the basic data to show, but given the amount of computation happening to map the GPS data, and calculate the speed and instantaneous pace data, it is quite fast enough. One small interface quibble: when one pauses an exercise, the watch face shows the two-vertical bars || symbol that on a media player is tapped to stop the media playing. It would be more intuitive if the paused symbol were the same as on media players, the right-pointing triangle. That would also be more intuitive, as "moving right" restarts the exercise.

Value for money
Value for money product. I am using it for the past 3 months for running. It tracks movements accurately, have good battery life (single charge last atleast 8 hours), sync activity to your mobile hence, you are not dependent on laptop/computer, GPS connection is quick (less than a minute). On the negative side, it should give more data about your run and there should be more programs for running.Overall good products. A good buy
