Good for Price
I bought two these to power a lot of Saitek pro flight instrument panels plus flight yoke, throttle, prop mixture panel, a flight stick and rudder controler. The latter four use more power than the instrument panels, so I plugged them into the from two (charging) hubs on each of the powered hubs. The instrument panel work perfectly by being plugged into the lower powered rear hubs. So what? You say. The above arrangement instantly solved the problem of erratic spiking I had been having with the flight controls, the rudders and the TPM panel. This had been a problem that I frustratingly had for a good while. Searching forums didn't help. The only advice was to return the products to saitek. When I discovered that unplugging most of the equipment from the computer and only plugging in one or two of the troublesome devices I found that they worked fine. I suspected a lack of power when all were plugged in. I got a Belkin powered hub which only partially helped. Finally I bought two of these for less than the price of one Belkin. And suddenly all my problems were solved. Now my simulator works perfectly again after months of wasteful trial and error. So as you can imagine I'm pretty please with this little, inexpensive but well made product.

Cheap, simple and effective
I bought this to use in conjunction with a USB Blu Ray drive with my Surface Pro 3 for the ability to play Blu Rays and it works perfectly. Of course, having the tablet, a USB drive and powered USB ports is a little clunky but it's much easier to transport and takes up less room when travelling and/or staying in a small hotel. The Surface needs a powered USB hub, to clarify, because it does not have sufficient power for devices that draw power like a USB Blu Ray drive. If the drive had its own power supply, however, it would have been fine.I haven't tested the speed or the power output as I was more concerned about whether it suited the job and it works fine. It also quite happily charges any low-powered USB item, such as my iPhone or 3DS (which needs a separate cable, also available from Amazon). I haven't tried it with an iPad, however. When purely charging items this way you just need to plug in the mains adapter - the USB plug doesn't need to be plugged in.

Ideal for a Raspberry Pi
NOTE: THIS REVIEW APPLIES ONLY TO THE 7-PORT USB 2.0 PRODUCT WITH TWO HIGH-CURRENT OUTPUTS. OTHER PRODUCTS SHOWN HERE WILL BEHAVE DIFFERENTLY.Rather than having a power supply for my Raspberry Pi and another power supply for a hub, I wanted to power the Pi from the hub. The trouble is that most hubs will only supply 500mA per port, which is not really enough for a Pi. Some hubs tout a higher-current "charging mode" option, but that usually requires the attached device to actively request the extra power. Since the Pi just connects the power terminals and no data, that wont work. This hub is simpler insofar as it just allows a higher current draw of 1.2A from two of the ports. That means a slightly incestuous arrangement of two cables where the Pi is powered from the hub and also connected to the input of the hub, but it does work well and saves on one mains power adapter. Note this hub does not "back-power" the Pi down the host cable. The hub itself is rather smaller than I expected (not a bad thing), and the base plate can be attached to the side instead to allow a horizontal mount. That does mean the hub has an ugly lump sticking out of the side when mounted vertically. It is a very light device so, with up to 8 USB cables plus the power cord, it is no way going to stay where you put it unless you stick it down. It can be fiddly to insert cables or devices into the closely-packed sockets, so probably best not plan to use this for anything other than a semi-permanent setup.I haven't really stressed the capabilities of the hub, but, in addition to the Pi power, I have had 4 real devices attached, including an external HDD also powered from this hub, and it behaves perfectly.I was impressed with Amazon's "frustration free" packaging, being easy to open and made almost entirely of recyclable card.Overall I like the functionality and would buy another one, but I would have preferred a simpler shape without the stand and a more accessible layout of sockets given, judging from it's weight, it must have mostly empty space inside it.

Can't fault it for the price, no problems running my external HD and charging my devices.
I swithered between getting this powered USB 2 hub versus various similarly priced USB 3 alternatives. In the end I went with this one partly to avoid any wifi interference issues (can happen with USB 3 hubs apparently) and partly because I've had good experiences with the Amazon Basics range in the past.On delivery I was happy to discover that hub is smaller than the product shots led me to believe; when mounted on its stand its only fractionally taller than a credit card. The port layout suits me well, as I have a number of items that stay permanently connected (I've put these in the rear ports), while the higher current front ports are handy for charging and occasional data transfers. Thus far I've had no connectivity issues with the hub at all; my older USB HD runs off the rear ports with no problem, and charging devices (phones, Kindle, headphones etc) via the front ports does indeed proceed at a faster rate, roughly equivalent to charging with a typical phone mains adapter. If I had to criticise something it would be the stand, as the hub easily slides out of it, but a little well-placed blob of blutack sorted that out immediately. All in all, this is another good example of the Amazon Basics line: cheap and functional with no unneeded frills.

Perfect size and transfer speed
I bought this bec I needed to transfer a lot of files from my desktop computer to External jump drives. I was hesitant that it would work well bec the price seemed 3x lower than what is at Staples, etc. However, this little thing works like a charm and since it has multiple ports, you can transfer to more than one or two jump drives. Love it. It is not huge or bulky.

So far so good
If you have a laptop with only 2 x USB-A 2.0 ports such as the HP probook 640, this device is perfect to have more ports then enough.it's USB 2.0 so it's slow but in my case the ports on the laptop are 2.0 too so.. it's inexpensive and doing a very fine job!

Simple y sencillo

Nice product
The item fulfilled my requirement. I was facing issues when i had to connect more than 2 devises with my Laptop. Now i can connect my headphone, 2 printers and mobile charger and work without any problem. The one issue with this item is that the cord length is not good, it should be increased.
