Tefal Quadruple Professional, Totally Bestest X-perts, High Wire Performing and other hyperbole XHGTEOCGHAEELKHJRT 200,000,000
It's been over 8 months now since buying this "Tefal Quadruple Professional, Totally Bestest X-perts, High Wire Performing and other hyperbole XHGTEOCGHAEELKHJRT 200,000,000" ... is it me or do Manufacturers over do their numbers and titles. Why Can't we have a simple"Tefal Super Steam" and if a number is needed, start with 1Right, now that's out of the way, I'm very happy with the Tefal Super Steam model number 1. Yes it is very expensive for a 'posh iron' but it is simple to use and effective.I have some sheets that I can fold into 4 (some into 8 - just a narrow strip of folded sheet on the ironing board) then I apply the iron with steam and it blasts those creases out. Turn then over for another quick blast and sheets are DONE.Now not all sheets are this compliant - I have some expensive ones that need a bit more time and cannot be folded for a quick iron.Jeans - lay on the board, iron up, turn them over and then iron down - DONE.Linen Tea Towels - easy - up and down - DONE.Linen Trousers are a bit more hassle - I must remember to take them off next time.IMPORTANT: When it states "Clean every 5 uses" (or whenever it is) you really MUST clean out the machine, otherwise you will get what some people on here have moaned about ... brown stains. People!! - if the manufacturer says clean it out, then they know the reason why, don't wrestle with them and try to ignore instructions. Teal weren't bored one day and decided to make people's lives more difficult !Cleaning out takes all of 30 seconds ... and avoids much of the problems described here by other users. My only real gripe is the price. Yep - it is a very good iron and a very good steam iron - but phew does it cost. But if you hate/dislike ironing - pop the radio on and in no time at all you will have whizzed through those clothes. So if you are time poor, money rich - (which I am not, I just like quality gadgets) or hate ironing, do yourself a favour and buy one.And I just cannot wait for the next model to come out, the:Teal OCTAGONAL Professional, Totally MORE Bestest X-perts, VERY VERY High Wire Performing and other hyperbole XHGTEOCGHAEELKHJRT 200,000,001

Great iron
Best iron you will ever own. Slightly annoying you have to unplug and plug it back in again each use as they seem to have a sensor issue but cannot fault it when using it

THE SAGA OF THE IRON MAN
This is in the past tense. It was an efficient, quickly reacting, easy to handle and smoothly gliding excellent iron. Then I knocked it on to the floor and it gave up the ghost with a tired little puff of steam. So I very soon stopped swearing and bought a slightly different modelof the same. Unsurprisingly it too is an excellent iron, and buying it was cheaper for an old codger than getting someone in to do the laundry. Highly satisfied by both irons!

Faulty and terrible repair service
If this iron worked without faults then I'm sure it would be very good and get a higher rating. Unfortunately the one which I received had a fault develop after just one month. Tefal were contacted who arranged for a repair which is done by an external 3rd party company known as Staffords. Collection of the iron was very efficient (DPD) who advise you of a 1 hour time slot at the start of the day but things go downhill thereafter. It took 5 days for Staffords to acknowledge that they had received the item which was by text inclusive of a note telling you not to respond. After hearing nothing for another week I contacted Tefal who called Staffords and reverted that they hadn't got around to looking at it yet. Surprisingly, the following day I received a text message telling me that the iron had been fixed and was on its way back. When it arrived, only one of the two original faults had been fixed but it had now developed a completely different fault. I called Tefal who advised that they will get Staffords to try and repair it again which could take another 2 weeks. I asked what happens if they fail to fix the fault again and they advised that it will go back to Staffords for a 3rd time to the QE Department for a further in depth analysis. They will try to diagnose the real fault and repair but if not possible it will be replaced after a further review by Tefal technical team.I find this very frustrating as a family of 4 left without an iron for over a month and Tefal cearly don't care. I paid £200 in good faith for what was allegedly the best iron on the market. Now I have had to fork out £35 for a cheap steam iron to tide us over until Tefal decide to send me a functional iron.I certainly won't be buying Tefal again purely based on their customer service and warranty standards. For info the faults were as followed:Fault 1 - Red empty water light flashes when switched on even when water tank is full, iron has to be switched off and back on again to clear.Fault 2 - Steam level drops mid-ironing and has very little power. (unfixed on 1st attempt and now developed crackling noise)Fault 3 - Iron now times out and switches itself off before it has reached temperature to iron, fix is to switch iron back on again

I'm trying again!
I bought this after my friend recommended it. It worked reasonably well for a few months (I did have a problem with the machine not recognising the water tank was attached) but then it developed a knocking noise when the motor was running. Amazon have promised to replace it so that's great. I'm hoping the replacement will be better as I really like it - so much faster than a conventional iron.
