Great for helping little ones learn to spell and read
This is a super useful toy for helping toddlers learn to spell basic words, the sounds of letters, and ultimately to read. It engages the visual sense, the tactile sense and then if you have the kid write it down after they spill it out with the blocks, they get a third way of remembering it. It’s super cool and my kids love it. I like how it’s very stable with the triangle at the sides, and I love that it’s wood.It makes your life a lot easier if you separate the cards to the blocks right off the bat, because it’s really infuriating to try to find the block for the right card. But if they’re matched up already, you can just give a stack of cards to a kid and they can go through it and it’s really cool. The downsides to the set are that the paint that’s printed the letters on has smeared in places, and the number of the pictures are not very clear on the cards. The paint smearing occurs in at least six different places, but it’s probably closer to 10. The manufacturing just needs to be cleaned up a bit there, but I don’t mind much. I care a lot more about the cards. The card pictures are often vague and so I have to sit next to my child to make sure they understand - when all they want is to do it themselves. For instance: the word is “toe,” but the picture is of a foot. The picture for “rat “looks like a mouse. Yes a toe is on a foot, but I had to go in with a sharpie and point to a toe so that my child doesn’t get confused. The rat picture well just make do. There are a couple of others like this. This is a really great useful tool, but I’ve given it four stars because of the paint and picture issues.

Easel is perfect for this artist to play with her grandson
The media could not be loaded. I was happy to see this bc babycare Wooden Reading Blocks Short Vowel Rods Spelling Game That features an artist easel set up for the cards. As a professional artist, I'm always looking for ways to add art stuff into our playing and our lessons with my grandson who is homescooled. This Set has 8 Spinning Alphabet Rods and 32 Flashcards. So far I've found them to be large, and smoothly varnished...haven't found any splinters yet. It's considered a Montessori Toy for 3 year old Kids and up, to help with learning both new Words and their Spelling.I love Learning Games. Why not add learning with your fun? This one is designed for Preschool Ages 4-8 Boys and Girls. The wooden rods with the blocks on them appear to be sturdy and durable. It's easy to turn the little blocks to show a different letter. The cards are quite nice too their glossy card stock. I was happy that the first one I picked at random happened to be a pen, because my grandson's mom, my daughter, is a published novelist and uses pens to write too.The one thing that bugs me about this set is on the carton. Why do they need to have a picture of a tank? Why even have that word on a card? I guess it's the world we live in. But it's sad.

Great little learning toy...
This teeny educational three is very useful. All the spinning blocks turn out to be an even four words why don't you make your letters together to make a word. My daughter who is five now can spell words that she couldn't before she had this choice so it is helpful. And it is fun also to learn with this toy because of the setup it looks like a miniature chalkboard easel just with black letters instead of chalk we do many different things with it we make up our own games and have fun with the letters of the blacks as well so it could be used for many different educational purposes for your little one and also I believe in make a great gift as well. My daughter who is five absolutely enjoys it this dirtiness is great and durability even better the wooden pieces are nice and weight very soft to touch and smooth so the quality overall I definitely recommend to buy. I really do not regret purchasing this item it definitely did what it intended to do and that was to help with educational purposes and a fun way for children.

Not self explanatory
the things i love about this spelling toy is that is very well built, wooden letter moves with ease and it's the perfect size for kids.the one thing i would change is that cards should be color coded with weel of letters it belongs to, that way kids can figure out which letter wheel to use for each card. all this means is that the game has to be played with a grown up for that kind of help.i took the liberty of using color markers on the edge of the letter wheels and wrote on the back of the card the "color" to look for.the last thing is silly but, there's an "Aunt" card where there's a woman with a dog- the woman looks "mean" and the dog looks afraid of her, like the dog is frowning, then there's a CARD of a "Boy" and he is holding up a dumbbell..but no Girl Card

Sturdy aid to help new readers
PACKAGING - came in a small compact box. Inside it had the blocks, stand and cards. There is no bag for the blocks and cards which would be helpful to keep the pieces all together. Using the box as storage is a little bit of a jigsaw puzzle but I’ve gotten faster after a couple of uses.QUALITY - The blocks and stand are wooden and sturdy. The cards are thin but functional. The pictures aren’t brightly illustrated but they still work to capture the attention of my 3 year old.EASE OF USE - I wish the cards were color coded to the corresponding block to eliminate time searching for the next block sit. But maybe I just need to find a prep plan that works for us like pull out all the cards to the corresponding block ahead of time instead of shuffling through them and risking loss of attention. The size is perfect for her little hands.
