Q: Does the stem stay in place once pulled up. The one I have does not stay in place getting me all wet. Does it screw in once pulled out.

No, just one. The picture is of it extended and collapsed

Q: "comes with: discrete carrying bag" did you mean "discrete" as in a separate bag? or "discreet" as in low-key? "boss bidet" on bag is not discreet.

It comes with a separate travel bag. It is a small and loosely fitted bag with drawstrings. The bag itself is not thick enough to prevent drips or leaks. Discrete? I don’t think so. There are HUGE letters of the brand name BOSS BIDGET written cross the bag. Well, at least the bag is not see through.
