I bought these primarily to create a boot disk to install Linux onto an old computer. They were good value for the price and the size for a one time writeable disk is helpful. Like most DVDs, it's best to keep them in a case. It was easy to write with a fine Sharpie to record what is stored on the disk. As they are single write disks, it's best for things like home movies or other things you won't need to write over. I didn't check the actual read and write speed, but I certainly can say running an operating system off of this would be slower than a USB or hard drive. Overall, they are effective at allowing for burning data onto the disks and readability from the disks. As with everything, if you have important files, make sure you have more than one backup.

This product is good for those large install discs that you need to create. Though you will need a special burner for it and the CDs do not work in anything that will not read a dual layer disc. So be aware of that. Under my recommendation you'll also see another burner. Is the burner that goes with this it has approximately seven point something gigs of storage and it's recording capacity.

Needed DL to burn ISO which expands to 6,6gb. These discs do the trick.

Great price and timely mail

I purchased a lesser know brand to save money and the iso image burn returned disk errors. Went back to Verbatim and they were able to burn a verified iso image without issues. This company has been around for years and has proven to be a quality disk.
