Gtech HT20 Hedge Trimmer

I've tried a few hedge trimmers but this little beauty beats them all hands down. I have a few hedges to trim each year and I thought the bigger the better. Wrong! A Bosch I bought was so heavy I was exhausted after 15 minutes and it was incredibly difficult to manoeuvre, not to mention having the electric cable to keep an eye on the whole time.This GTech is ideal for its light weight and easily adjustable blade. The battery is small and lightweight and I was surprised how long it lasted on one charge. I used it on my 30M long x 8ft high beech hedge and it took me only 40 minutes of continuous cutting. The battery gave up just as I was finishing and I was impressed that it lasted so long. My smaller hedges will be easy to cut now and I am actually looking forward to cutting them!I was lucky enough to have been able to sample a GTech before I bought mine. My daughter has one and I asked her if I could borrow it to test it out so I knew in advance it was up to the job. I haven't tried any other cordless models so don't know how it compares but I would certainly recommend this one from my own experience.

Lightweight and easy to operate, this trimmer does the job very well. Battery life is far better than I had expected. Ideal for taking the tops neatly off our 2 metre high hedges - and then trimming the rest in just one charge, this has instantly totally superseded the need for ladders and heavy mains powered trimmers. I can thoroughly recommend it.

bought for my 80 year old mother who is determined to stay independent. she can use it although she finds it a bit heavy after a while. we help her out and find it's pretty good.

Like all Gtech stuff well engineered great battery life light to use and cuts really well. Only down side is the ‘trigger’ and the way the ‘kill switch’ is arranged. It can be a pain in the arse trying to squeeze the trigger and keep the kill switch depresses at the same time.Would be a problem if you’ve got arthritis etc

I found this product a little dissappointing as it is quite heavy- heavier than I was expecting. The distance from where you have to hold it to the operational switch means that you are operating it with arms stretched wide which I found uncomfortable . On the plus side it is very sharp and give a good close cut.

This hedge trimmer is Brilliant, I have a privet hedge that is quite long. Did both the sides and the top and still had a full charge left. I couldn't believe how much I got done, and it still showed that it had a full charge.I would certainly recommend this hedge trimmer, and It's nice and quiet. A joy to use without it getting heavy when you have to reach out to do the full width of a hedge.

My previous corded hedge trimmer was heavy and unbalanced, making it difficult to lift. The Gtech is excellent: lightweight and well-balanced and easy to use to reach higher areas of the hedge. It lacks the 'grunt' of a bigger corded trimmer, and has a smaller cutting hedge. However, if these are taken into account, the Gtech manages really well. It has made cutting our hedge of native trees, and overhanging leylandii from our neighbours much easier. The extension tube doesn't add significantly to the weight. Providing you allow for the inevitable limits of a lightweight design and small cutting head, this is an excellent product that I strongly recommend.
