Absolutely brilliant
Bought this on the recommendation of a friend who like us has a champion 'lead puller'. Both dogs are German Shepherds and rescue dogs, ours hadn't been walked for two years and excitable doesn't even come close to describing ours on a lead. Having studied animal psychology I wasn't particularly concerned at be prospect of addressing this behaviour and indeed in a relatively short period of time we had a well mannered dog on a lead. However, she is unpredictable when it comes to other dogs and my wife who only weighs a couple of stone more than the dog struggled to control her, first with a lead attached to her waist, a halti, and then an anti-pull harness. However, this Dogmatic is a revelation, with only a twist of the wrist we can control her and are no longer concerned that the dog will pull my wife over. This is much better than the halti we had as it doesn't ride up into the dogs eye and is easier to fit, really can't recommend it enough for anyone struggling with their dogs behaviour on a lead.

Expensive but effective, and dog likes it (now)
Expensive, but comfortable for my black Lab, Connie, and effective. She used to be amenable to staying with us but might pull your shoulder out if she spotted a canine friend. She is now so easy to walk that I can trust her not to inadvertently injure anyone who walks her who happens to weigh less than the average truck. Connie did not know what to make of it when I first put it on, and it looks like a muzzle in some respects, but allows her to carry things and catch reward biscuits - a vital component for training Labradors!

Wouldn't walk a big dog without one!
The Dogmatic is often overlooked! It's better than other headcollars as it's stable and doesn't move around! I have 3 dogs using one including my springer who was a really strong and bad puller before the dogmatic!I tried the canny and halti and because they slipped he actually ripped all of the fur from his nose!Since the Dogmatic he walks beautifully! No pulling! He's really good, making him a pleasure to walk now instead of a battle! Please note, order the right size for your dog and you do have to put in some training, it isn't an instant cure! But 1/2 the battle is gone!

In Praise of the Dogmatic Headcoller
We have purchased about 8 headcollers for our "puppy" since we had him at 12 weeks last August 12. He is very strong and pulls all the time despite training classes for us both. Mainly we have purchased Canni collers but tried other and more expensive headcollers. The Dogmatic was recommended by Dawn Banton who grooms him regularly. She was absolutely correct. This headcoller is substantial but comfortable for our Labradoodle. He has even been in the sea wearing it and it did not shrink at all. It does not ride up, hurt his eyes or stop him from carrying his favourite ball, bottle, toy. Most importantly the Dogmatic stops him from pulling, it works and he is calm and comfortable. I know from our dog groomer that these headcollers last for years - so a good buy.

It Works!!
Used a smaller size initially but as my dog grew felt it was time to invest in the next size up. Love this head collar as it gives me full control of my (sometimes) reactive GSD. It’s easy to put on and he’s never managed to get it off unlike some other head collars. It’s well made and because of its design it doesn’t ride up into his eyes. The dogmatic is a bit more expensive but I feel well worth it.

Miracle product, and I don't use that term lightly.
I have a strong willed Bracco Italiano. With a harness she froze and wouldn't move and once she was moving would pull my arm out my socket and if she saw another dog would jump and lurch to get to it by any means. We have been working very hard on training, but being a scent dog food is not of interest when the big wide world smells so good. I was despairing. I didn't want to walk her and wondering how we could meet her needs. I can only tell you my experience with my peculiar dog... but this product is AMAZING. When it arrived, she was interested in it and was very happy to have it put on. I thought we would have problems, but she seemed very comfortable. Then I walked her outside. I could hold the lead with two fingers just guiding her with direction. I can not believe the instant transformation and really hope that if you purchase you get the same results. My dog walking friends can't believe it is the same dog. She is calm and even will take the odd snack. I can loose lead walk and have much more confidence. We still need to train when meeting other dogs, but I have better control because I can divert her head away, rather than ineffectively pulling an entire strong resisnt body away. Mind blown by how this product has changed our dog walks!

Good, but...
It works, controls the dog and stops his pulling. The downside, it doesn't seem to matter how tight it is fitted, if he wants to slip it, he does, twice so far, once on the road when he saw another dog. It doesn't seem comfortable for the dog, pushes up against his eye resulting in him trying to claw it off. We keep his usual collar on him and it's a shame there is no fastening to clip it to his usual collar, so if he slipped it then he would still be secured to the lead. Overall, it works and we continue to use it, just has a couple of design flaws, it's far better than others we have used.

Its a must have product
This is the third one i have purchased, and i think they are fantastic products. I have tried numerous different product over the years and i have found the dogmatic to be the best. They are by far the kindest on the market and don't ride up into my dogs eyes .I have two Rhodesian ridgeback's and my 12 year old daughter can walk the two of them with ease whilst they are wearing them. My advice is measure your dogs head as they suggest on the dogmatic web site and go by the sizing that relates to it. There is a size for everyone, and they also do leather ones as well. I have never personally had to contact them but i do know people who have and they have said they are so helpful. If you have any doubts ring them. I would not be without the dogmatic, just wish i had, had them years ago.
