Small dish
This cast iron dish is well made and the supplier maintained their promise regarding delivery date. Regretably it was too small for the intended purpose (to heat commercially available Camembert 'in the round') and had to be returned but it was quickly replaced by a slightly larger dish from the same supplier (all this through Amazon) and that larger dish is equally well made but a slightly different design and that works perfectly for its intended task.

Don't waste your money
Too small for one thing. Did not cook evenly, food burnt and item ruined on first use. What a waste of money.

Just what I wanted - almost
OK, my kids love bacon and egg rolls, with the egg fried. I had one of the non-stick coated pans just the right size for producing a round fried egg that fitted perfectly on a bread roll, but as these things so, the not-stick coating was disintegrating. I already have two cast iron frying pans so sought out a small one for the purpose outlined earlier.Firstly, the pan is slightly on the small side. It does the job but while the old pan measured 4" at the base, this measures 4" at the top of the pan. The result is eggs that are very slightly too small for a standard bread roll. Not a major problem but a little bit off perfection.I have to say that I always season cast iron, whether it comes pre-seasoned or not, and this was no difference (in fact I took the opportunity to re-season one of my older pans at the same time). If you've never done this it's a matter of a thin wipe of olive oil all over the pan and put it in the oven (very hot) for half an hour or so. Cool and repeat. In use, it does need to be very hot before use otherwise I've found the eggs will stick, and 'just in case' I give it a couple of squirts from one of those sunflower spray oil things. I also put a folded square of foil over the top of the pan to keep the heat in and cook the top of the egg because I don't think the pan is suitable for 'over easy' eggs. If you do the same don't leave eggs cooking for too long since they cook very quickly. So why did I drop a star? Well firstly because it is slightly too small, but what did bother me initially was that the instruction leaflet that comes with it states 'not to be used on the hob'. Looking at the Amazon description, I note that it does NOT state that, although it does say it's suitable for oven use it doesn't not give any exclusions. Now I thought to myself that was a bit ridiculous, I've been using cast iron on the hob for years so what is the problem here? So I used it on the hob. Now anyone who has ever used cast iron cookware knows that it gets too hot to touch, and quite simply you can't touch the handle on this one once it's propery warmed up. I therefore use a teacloth to remove it once the egg is cooked. I assume this is the reason for the 'not suitable' instruction, however with a little common sense that is easily overcome, and I've now cooked plenty of eggs using the pan on the hob.

Tiny, not much use, but good for a few seeds
This is rather tiny. Had to buy a trivet for it in order to use it on a gas stove. It is great for cooking a tablespoon or two of seeds (15-30ml) but has no other use. I enjoyed learning how to season cast iron cookware with this before I bought a full size skillet. My advice: find something like a small saucer and measure it in order to gauge the size of this tiny thing.

Value for money.
I love my little skillet. It's perfect for one person and the board is perfect for it.

'Small pan' is an understatement
I wanted a small cast-iron pan to take on camping trips, not a huge thing that ways a ton and definitely not this piddly little thing. I doubt very much whether you would be able to fry a single egg in it.The overall size is 16cm long - that includes the handle, which is 6cm in length. I feel the description is a bit misleading to be honest, as usually the size stated is the diameter of the pan, not including the handle.I've given it 2*. 1* for the pan & 1* for the board. They both look to be well made, just not big enough to cook with. Probably better off hung up and used for decoration.

Proper quality pan
It's very good, and it has a lovely little wooden serving thing. It is exactly the size it says it is, therefore, very very small. What could you use it for?- baking- pretending you are a giant- if you have an electric hob- if you have a tiny tiny gas hob (you don't, I've never seen one)- Serving food in a cool stylish way- Use it to add trace amount of iron to things because you are vegetarian or vegan, e.g. by sticking it in the water you are going to use to make soup or pasta or tea or what not (it's a lot cheaper than the iron fish people buy for this purpose) (don't bother adding iron to things that are rich in calcium because calcium stops iron being absorbed)
