This holster is brilliant quality, extremely well made, very comfortable to use, works very well and should last at least a lifetime. I use one at work that has been knocking around for many many years, can't do without it, and like it so much I bought one of my own. My Felco nº2 secateurs fit and live in it permanently and it feels very natural to use when I'm gardening both at home or at work. I don't know if other brands of secateurs fit, so try them out in a shop display holster first if you haven't got felco secateurs. It should be a snug fit so they don't fall out and the leather will ease very slightly over time to mold to you secateurs. You can clip it on your belt or use the slots to thread a belt through it. I always use the clip. The belt clip was too tight at first but I eased it slightly with the aid of a couple of big screwdrivers to open it up a bit and now it's perfect. You could just permanently thread it onto a leather belt and wear that over your clothing and many of my colleagues do that and have other holsters and tools attached to the same belt as well. Assuming you have Felco secateurs, and if you're in doubt or put off by the price of this holster, don't be, it's the real deal, a good investment that will last at least your lifetime. It's used by all RHS horticulturalists, so if it's good enough for them...

Essential piece of kit, somewhere to put the secateurs when up a ladder or tree, also when working in the garden rather than putting them down and losing sight of them. Helps with safety by leaving your hands free.

Excellent quality and my Felco snippets fit perfectly

Given the cost of the secateurs a far safer option than a back pocket and a lot easer to thread onto a belt or quickly clip onto the waistband of jeans (it has a stainless steel spring clip behind the flat rear portion above the word 'Felco', one that works exactly like the kind of pistol holster one often sees detectives take off or slip on their belts on TV)... and if that sounds daft it's the best description I could come up with. (A photo of the back would be useful, as would one of the secateurs in the holster and the whole thing worn in the ways described. If you do clip the thing on and take it off a nice touch is the hole for a hook or nail, assuming you have a secure and neatly-ordered potting shed.

Very pleased with it, very good quality

I use these for my work. I have done for over 30 years. They last donkeys years in continuous everyday use, built for purpose which is holding Felco No.2 secateurs, and maybe others but I can't speak for that. In that time we have managed to wear out one holster (and loose maybe a couple more) so for most of us these are products for life. They are stiff when new because they are thick durable leather. The spring that holds them onto your belt/trousers is also stiff, for security. They adapt to the shape of the secateur over time and ALWAYS hold the secateurs in place. You will need to open the secateur safety catch and tighten it open, or just remove it; the spring on the secateurs is what holds the secateurs in the holster, and when they are removed they are ready for use without fiddling about with the catch. In my opinion these are essential for a maintenance gardener. They are cheaper than the secateurs they protect and save long searching for pairs that you have put down 'somewhere', or replacement costs when they have been thrown away with the wet leaves in autumn..
