A great decaf ground coffee for espresso machines! I have a bean-to-cup espresso machine, so it's a bit of a pain swapping out the beans to make a cup of decaf, but this works a treat. Good aroma, great taste and the perfect grind for espresso machines.

I decided to try this illy coffee because I wanted a cup that still felt rich and full bodied even though it’s caffeine free. The 250g tin is a handy size and knowing it’s made from 100 percent Arabica beans and a medium roast gave me hope for something decent. The first few brews hit nicely smooth rounded flavour with hints of caramel and a clean finish that left nothing bitter in the cup. The taste profile includes caramel, chocolate and toasted bread with a sweet aftertaste and on my espresso machine that came through quite well. What I particularly liked is that it gave me something closer to proper coffee even though it’s decaf. It held up well as a plain espresso and felt just right when I had it with a splash of milk. On the other hand it’s not completely flawless. If you compare it side by side with a freshly roasted caffeinated specialty bean you will notice it lacks a little of the brightness or depth you sometimes get with premium roasts. Also because it comes pre ground, it doesn’t give you the same freshness you’d get by grinding beans yourself. That being said for the convenience and quality you’re getting, I think it delivers very well and would recommend this.

I normally enjoy quite a dark roast but recently I’ve had to switch to decaf for health reasons so I’ve been looking for a decaf that’s not really weak. This one is the best I’ve tried yet. It has a really nice deep flavour and works perfectly in my espresso machine. Would definitely recommend and will be buying again. Also like how it comes in a tin to prolong freshness and can be reused for something once the coffee is gone.

Not the best. Acidic flavour. Coffee is very fine so it will over pour in an espresso machine from the water pressure. Pack lightly. Nutty aroma but I wouldn’t purchase again. The tin is great for my coffee beans though! Open with care. apparently others have had it explode?? Just follow the instructions on the lid inside.

This is the nicest decaf coffee I have EVER had. Its rich and smooth flavour is amazing. I even tried it on a family member who thought it was conventional coffee. Definitely going to be buying it from now. Honestly, you won’t be disappointed….Bravo Illy…..

Great taste. Wouldn't taste the difference to real coffee. Price a little too high.
