Nice kit got two one for each go bag

I liked it so much I bought a second one. There’s room in the tin for lots of char cloth and the stuff it comes with.

I do Civil War reenacting for a hobby and we try to keep thing as realistic as possible. So I bought this kit. Nice kit. The steel is easy to hold and the flint was a nice big piece. However the shape of the flint made it hard to knap to get new sharp edges and it was kind of hard to hold with a piece of char cloth. So I bought some other flint from a seller on Amazon and that made a big difference. All in all it's a good quality kit.

Unit is quite nice. The only problem is in the description it says it comes with a pocket bellows. This piece is very helpful when trying to light the tinder from the char cloth. Mine is missing. I would like to contact the seller about this but have no idea how to do that. I would give the product 5 stars if it came with all the pieces listed.

Was impressed by the striker as it strikes really well. The rock I don’t know what it is as it looks like crystal. I already have flint readily available and it works great with that.

No fire after an hour of trying. Rock is small and most edges don’t create a spark. Four different people trying and sweating, and BLEEDING trying. Small sparks here and there but no fire.

I was able to start a amber on char cloth very first strike very pleased with. The spark was made from a peace of Alabama chert
