After a quick review of a YouTube video, it took me about 1 hour to complete this project - and that included a battery replacement as well. If you've got a broken screen/digitizer and are going to open up this phone, I recommend taking the time to install a new battery as well as replacing the screen/digitizer, assuming of course, the phone is at least a couple of years old. The Pixel 3a is past that age easily, and is no longer supported by Google. But it is still a great phone and a very decent camera (yes, the newer Pixels are better). Removing the broken screen/digitizer was the most time-consuming part. You need to heat the screen quite a bit to soften the adhesive. The suction cups rarely work, so be prepared to use the guitar picks and other implements to remove the screen/digitizer. NOTE: Be extra careful if the screen is broken, as the broken glass cuts like a knife. When connecting the new ribbon cable to the main board, be sure the connection is properly seated in the socket. If the retaining strip doesn't screw down evenly, you definitely haven't got it right. TEST the screen/digitizer before you glue it back into place. The supplied toolset is excellent. The tube of adhesive worked perfectly, but be careful not to use too much - apply a very thin strip around the edge of the chassis - not the digitizer. Finally, once you have the new screen/digitizer glued in place, set the phone on a firm level surface, and place a good-sized book on top of it, then let it cure for at least an hour. Then, apply the included screen saver and it's done!

Worked OK for 2 days, now black background is washed out and bright - not dark black like the original screen. Shutting down and restarting make no difference. Reducing brightness to lowest level doesn't get rid of background brightness.

My husband is not the most tech savvy but he was able to replace the screen to his Google phone very quickly and easily! Great product for the value!
