Sealey Ak624 Micrometer Torque Wrench 1/2Sq Drive Calibrated

If you want a torque wrench that you know has been calibrated and checked without spending the big bucks then this is a good option. I use mine for diy use so it’s very doubtful I will get it recalibrated, but the peace of mind it arrives correctly calibrated is a huge draw. Re calibration should be every 12 months, when mine arrived the certificate was 13 months old. But for the price I was still happy.

Feels great to use as a hobbyist with a hefyy quality feel. The length makes even the upper end of the range feel effortless. Relatively cheap, too. Can't fault it.

Bought this as a replacement for a wrench whee the changeover lever broke. This one looks a bit stronger and the calibrations range covers what I need.would have been 5 stars if there had been 1/2" to 1/4" drive.

It's a Sealey, and I trust Sealey. I needed a calibrated torque wrench. What does that mean? It means they've tested each one, individually, to make sure it tightens fasteners to the specification you choose, within the manufacturing limits of the tool. In the box is a certificate of the individual test results for YOUR torque wrench.You can buy torque wrenches cheaper from retail discounters but you don't really know how accurate they are. Not just an issue if you're building a nuclear power station. If you're putting steel bolts into an aluminium engine casing, or tightening down a cylinder head, you really want to know you're doing it right.

Pleased with the product, it was exactly as I hoped it would be.

I bought this torque wrench to undertake a specific task on my car suspension. It performed very well with a fairly good range of settings (some of the cheaper ones do not perform well at lower settings). Adjustment was fairly easy with markings being reasonably clear although the primary markings are in ftlbs with the secondary scale being Nm thus making the Nm adjustment slightly more difficult as each full rotation corresponds to an odd number of Nm.It is supplied with a calibration certificate which does give some assurance, especially at lower torque settings, you can be reasonably confident that you will be applying the correct torque.All in all great value for money and the quality is good as has always been my experience with Sealey tools.

A sturdy product. Seems to be well worth the money.Assuming that the certificate is valid (and not just someone writing numbers on a piece of paper pretending to do testing) then it would appear to be very accurate indeed. I have no reason to doubt that Sealey do test the wrenches!The settings marks are the same colour as the wrench so there is very little contrast and if you are using the wrench at night in a garage (as I do) then it can be a bit tricky to read the settings.However, since the markings for the settings are stamped they won't wear off!Overall, an excellent product at a good price.

I bought this 4 years ago for a specific job but never used it, so it was left in its blue box. It didn’t come with a calibration certificate like others have mentioned theirs did. Went to use it this weekend to find the the ‘click click’ ball bearing mechanism for when the set torque setting is reach doesn’t work, it resulted in a nightmare day trying to put right what it made wrong. Sadly it’s first use resulted in a Total Disaster.
