PantenePro-V Gold Series Repairing Mask for African American, Ethnic and Curly Hair Care, 1.7 Fl Oz

In the interest of full disclosure, I'm a white person with curly hair, not an African American like Pantene is marketing these products to. I'm a huge new fan of the Pantene Gold Series and have been looking for a great hair mask to treat my damaged dry ends that have resulted from hair coloring. I was excited to find that the Pantene Gold line makes a hair mask and promptly ordered one to try out. Upon opening it, I noticed that while it smells really nice, the consistency is lacking the thickness I'm accustomed to finding in a hair mask. There was enough product in one package to treat my hair 3 times. So I did just that, I used this mask 3 times over the course of a week. I applied the mask at the start of my shower, just after shampooing my scalp. Then I let the mask sit on my hair while I continued going about my shower, letting the mask work for at least 10 minutes before rinsing (the instructions say to leave it on for 5-7 minutes). After the second application, I noticed that the mask hadn't made any difference in my hair at all. When I was applying the mask for the third time, I took a closer look at the package. That's when I noticed that the ingredients are literally identical to those of the Pantene Gold Series Moisture Boost Conditioner. I'm not talking about the first few ingredients, every single ingredient is the same and in the same order. So I squirt some of the conditioner in one hand and compare it to the mask the the other hand- they are completely indistinguishable. What a joke, no wonder I didn't notice a difference from using the mask, because it is literally the same product that I've been applying to my hair every single day! Now, don't get me wrong, Pantene Gold Series Moisture Boost Conditioner is an excellent conditioner for hair, but I feel like Pantene is scamming people by packing their conditioner up and selling it as a mask.
