Was dubious about auto feeders. Was very pleased in practice. Not used on a daily basis, but when I am going to be away for more than a couple of days.Thoroughly tested for quantity of food despatched. Measured the quantity needed for each feed and repeatedly tested the feeder to ensure the feeding gap was sufficient.The amount of food can be adjusted by sliding a gate, I have a piece of plastic of the exact width. So easy to set up.Used it twice now for over a week, no under or over feeding.Comes with very easy instructions, it is very versatile with many setting choices. I set it up to feed twice every day, with one rotation. The food simply falls out of feed drum through feed gate at bottom of each rotation.I prefer to switch to mini granules so there is a uniform feed size and no risk of the feed clumping and blocking gate.The unit has a charge indicator for rechargeable lithium battery.Really happy with this better than risking the over feeding and returning to a cloudy unhealthy tank.

Whilst everything was easy to set up, and the portion control was not too fiddly the item supplied reset itself to 48hour timer. I’ve been testing it over the last few days to get everything correct for my holiday. I set 12 hour intervals but within minutes of the initial dispenser operating the flashing light switched to 48 hours, dispensed again and then nothing 12 hours later. The item was delivered on Thursday of last week, having spent 3 days trying to get a 12 hour feed set up over 3 days I set a 12 hour cycle at 07:30 on Sunday morning. It dispensed a feed on set up and the 12 hour light was flashing every 3 seconds. within 10 minutes it dispensed again and the 48 hour light was flashing. I left it and at 07:30 this morning (Tuesday 48 hours later) it dispensed another feed. I've returned it as faulty.

Easy to fit. Works well. Keeps the food dry. Battery lasts at least 6 months between charges when feeding twice a day which is amazing. My only dislike is that the slide to control how much is fed can be a bit tricky to adjust and could easily over feed if not tested several times before fitting to tank. I set it all up and tested it over a plate about 10 times, then divided the amount of food by the number of times I tested to see how much they'd get on average. Adjust the slider a little at a time and retest until you're happy. I then put a turn of electrical tape around to hold the slider in place so it doesn't get moved while refilling or mounting the device.If you're going away for a long time I suggest setting this up a few weeks in advance and letting it feed, then after a week feed a little manually and see how hungry the fish are and tweak the settings if needed. Feeding less food more frequently is better and safer than more food less frequently because each feeding will be a slightly different amount due to the way the food rolls in the chamber. You don't want to come home after weeks away and find it's been consistently over or under feeding.If you don't have condensation trays or a tight lid with a feeding hole, I'd recommend you fit one before leaving for more than a few weeks otherwise the evaporation can reduce tank level quite a bit. Obviously you need an excellent filter if you're going to leave tank unattended for weeks or longer.

Great but sadly only lasted 8 months. Returned from holiday and now refuses to charge. Unsure how much food poor little fish received in the 2 weeks we were away!
