Value and style
I was looking for an inexpensive but nice lighter and opted for this one.. I was very surprised (for this price) to see when it arrived that it was indeed a solid metal lighter and not just a sleeve over a standard one, also it has a flame adjusting wheel on the bottom that standard Clippers don't and the presentation box finishes this off nicely. highly recommended quality for a good price. I would recommend going for the brushed steel finish rather than other finishes offered as it would be more scratch resistant and retain its look.

F'ing Love this lighter!
Came 2 day early so that's a good start lol.The lighter is fantastic i absolutely love it. As an avid herb smoker this lighter is going to last me a life time.( i use regular plastic clippers all the time and on average they last a couple of years when refilling and replacing flints )It even has parts you would expect to be plastic that are actually metal, The only plastic part is the flint wheel rod (and that is totally replaceable if needs be, so i can see why that bit alone is plastic).I also brought 3 of these 2 of them as Xmas gifts, I have two Friends that will love these as much as i do

Metal by CLIPPER
This lighter does not live up to normal clipper standard. It is nice to look at, carries a 2 year warranty and the presentation case makes it an attractive gift but.....The opened ended box is not tight fitting so the case, with the added weight of the lighter inside it, slips straight out. The strike wheel is not the usual smooth edged clipper design but more the typical rough edged callus building type of most throwaway lighters. The retaining screw of the flint housing has to be fully tightened otherwise it will not fit back in place, which necessitates employment of tools (or toothache) every time it is changed. Even then it still stands a little proud of where it should to the flame so that the spark doesn't quite hit the right mark thus requiring multiple strikes. It also means that the plastic flint housing is exposed and could heat up to melting point, which is possibly why the instructions recommend that it isn't kept lit for more than 10 seconds.Mine arrived empty so required filling before use and took 2 or 3 attempts to get any gas in it. Once filled and with the flame adjusted to a reasonable length, the gas release seems a little muted. This possibly accounts for the bouncing flame many have seen - though I haven't experienced the flamethrower effect mentioned by another reviewer. The warranty is invalid unless it carries the retailer's stamp and date of purchase - mine doesn't.

Unable to adjust flame size
Purchased about four years ago for my wife who just loves Clipper lighters, looked marvelous and worked wonderfully when it arrived, unfortunately, after using up the supplied gas fill and refilling it I ended up with, even at the highest control setting, the smallest flame you could imagine. Over the last four years I have tried all manner of things to get this lighter to operate correctly (because my better half really likes this lighter and wants it to work again) but unfortunately nothing I do seems to be able to fix it. It appears to be an issue with the flame size, even when turned up full, the flame, if you can get it to light, is what we call in Scotland 'a peep', and is certainly not capable of lighting a cigarette. I am only writing this review because after such a long time trying to fix this lighter I am finally giving up. Both my wife and myself still use Clipper lighters, but we use the holiday type 'get one free when you buy two packs of cigarettes' lighters and they are excellent, so this is not in any way a complaint about the Clipper company, it is just me saying that this particular model has some significant problems.
