I don't know why so many people are reviewing this based on the contents of the box without even trying it, or that it needs 4 litres of milk without reading that you can half the measurements.I made mozzarella yesterday with my kids and used 2 litres of milk. It worked well and the instructions were clear, though at times it would help if they had a video link on their site just so we could be sure we were doing things right.Yes there wasn't much in the box but I don't know what else people expected as it had everything that was required for plenty of batches. Yes I'm sure for regulars buying everything in bulk separately would work out cheaper but this was a good little introductory kit to try out first.

The media could not be loaded. Small pack but much cheaper than others on market. Only contains the essentials, not padded out with tat. Will go in my son's Christmas stocking

The content is perfect to make cheese but the recipe is not cleared enough. I have made mozzarella and it says to use 1/4 of rennet sachet, how do you measure 1/4 of a sachet?

Everything in the ordering process was excellent. I thought the reviews were very thorough and the hints for the beginners (when their 1st attempts resulted in little mishaps) were very encouraging, not to give up, as you corrected minor errors in the making of delicious cheeses.Grandson Henry , 9 years of age, is going to help in the making & hopes to present the cheese board, with the help of mummy on Xmas day!I am considering purchasing the children's cheesemaker box as an extra present for under the tree

I wasn't expecting great results from this as I never seem to be able to create what is promised but have to say I was impressed with the kit and my results. It was definitely a "stick with it" project when I attempted the mozzarella recipe. A thermometer is a must I'm afraid. Cheap enough. Got mine for £6. I followed the instructions but when setting the milk my attempt didn't look like I expected ( like cottage cheese floating in water) but stuck with it. After microwaving it looked like mush that was too hot to handle but I started folding it with a spoon and to my surprise, it started stiffening up. Microwaved it again and continued with the spoon and eventually it became some great mozzarella. Must say that I don't have a pan big enough to hold 8 pints of milk so halved the ingredients. The picture shows how much you get from 4 pints of whole milk.
